“A lovely week!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

We have stayed at this hotel before which means it must be good! This time we opted for bed and breakfast which enabled us to eat out in the lovely town of Riva del Garda.
We were offered an upgrade and had a lovely room on the top floor in a room that had been modernised. The bed linen and towels were spotless and we had a view of the lake.
The staff at the Luise are extremely friendly and helpful with nothing being too much trouble.
Breakfast was ample with the usual choice of pastries, cheeses, ham, eggs, cerealsfruits and yoghurts.
Overall, we had a lovely week and would recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

Room Tip: We had a room on the top floor- It had recently been refurbished. The last time we stayed here we ha...

We stayed at the hotel at the end of May and can’t fault it. All the reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

We upgraded to the refurbished part and were really pleased with the décor and facilities. The use of the safe is free and there was plenty of room to get ready and no squeezing around the bed like in some hotel rooms. The bed and pillows are sooooo comfy that we wanted to have them shipped home with us! The towels were replaced daily and the complimentary robes were really comfy and a nice touch. The towels provided around the hotel pool are lovely and fluffy too - not starchy and rough like some places.

The hotel has free bike hire and it was a lovely 20 minute ride to Torbole which is the next town along. The hotel is in a perfect location to get to the centre of Riva as it’s only a 5minute walk to the bars/restaurants and maybe another 5 minutes to get to the ferry port which will take you to Limone/Malcesine etc. It’s only a 30 minute walk to the Bastione too which you can see nestled on the hillside from the hotel. As well as bikes, umbrellas are provided as Riva does seem prone to quite spectacular thunderstorms and downpours! All the locals are walking around with their golf brollies too!

Breakfast was lovely. A large selection of fruit juice, cereals, fruit, yoghurts, meats, cheese and pastries. There was also a hot selection with bacon etc. There were even facilities to boil your own eggs if you wanted. We didn't eat any other meals at the hotel but we did drink in the bar which is reasonably priced.

A special thanks to the staff as whilst in Riva we got engaged at the Bastione overlooking the lake. A family member rang reception, from home, to have some Prosecco sent to our room but they couldn’t take the payment over the phone. When we returned from our evening meal the hotel had provided a complimentary fruit platter, a bottle of Prosecco and a note congratulating us which I thought was a really lovely gesture. It made our engagement even more special!

Overall I would definitely recommend a stay at Feeling Hotel Luise and I would love to return again soon.

Room Tip: I'd definitely upgrade to the refurbished part on the ground floor.

On arrival we had a room on the 3rd floor for the first night which was small and old fashioned, carpet on the floor and a very small shower, no bath, and the air con didn't seem to be working properly, but it was very clean. However, we had asked for an upgrade prior to arrival, and were given one of the newly refurbed rooms on the 4th floor for the rest of our stay
which was lovely - bright and airy, wood floors and more space, plus a bath. Hotel reception and public areas are light, spacious and very nice.
The staff are absolutely amazing, they are so friendly and helpful - really first rate, cant praise them highly enough.
Breakfast was excellent. We would stay there again, but would go for the refurbed rooms

Room Tip: Ask for a refurbished one, looking towards the lake

Lovely modern hotel. Public areas bright and modern.Great and generous breakfast.Decor modern.BUT the standard room we had was a little tired. needed a lick of paint and brightening up.
It was however clean with towels changed daily and clean bedding mid week.

Fantastic location 2 mins to lake shore.5 mins to town center.
Would stay again

Perfect value for money. The hotel is quite close to the lake and not so far from the city center. The hotel is quite new with a good modern style. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Free wifi which is not common in Italy...
The restaurant has a short list but the food is very good.
Breakfast is quite generous and good.
An open swimming pool is available but I did not use.

A good place to stay.

There are a lot of good points about this hotel and not that many bad points to be honest. Firstly, the location is fantastic. Literally a 10 minute walk (if that) to the Lake. We rented their bikes for free which made going to the Lake very handy, as well as neighbouring areas. We were lucky enough to be given one of their modern rooms on the top floor which faced the pool (and factory in the background) but was very quiet as noted by other reviews. By far the best breakfast we had in Italy and if you ask nicely, they will make you an omelette :) We also dined at the restaurant which exceeded our expectations. If you have any questions regarding your stay at the hotel and Lake Garda in general, the hotel will be more than happy to answer them. Excellent attention to detail as well - they brought up a bottle of champagne to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We paid about £80 per night and would definitely go back.

Lastly, if you are looking for something to do on a rainy day, I strongly recommend the spa at Lido Palace. Expensive but the treatments are very good. You will need to pay extra to use their facilities but lovers of day spas will not regret it. The complimentary toiletries is a nice bonus as well.

Room Tip: Ask for a modern renovated room.
