“No 1 for rooftop pools”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

From the moment we arrived till the end of our 12 day stay here it surpassed all expectations . Top marks to all the friendly staff and special mention to the head chef and Marcos the maitre d' who commanded a first class kitchen . This family who run the hotel have many years experience in the area and have all qualities of an international group but make you feel at home in an informal environment. The location is great for everyone's demands including activities on the lake , rock climbing , cycling , boat journeys to other towns or just soaking up the sun by the roof terrace pool admiring the amazing views of Lake Garda . A first class hotel at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: nearly all rooms do not have a lake view , 3 sides of the hotel directly look over a car park , the...

my husband and myself visited this hotel for our honeymoon on the 21st of july we thought the hotel was stunning it was spotless the staff were brilliant They were all so helpful if you needed anything they were there to help you printing off maps even phoning a local wine store for us to check they were open before we went .the hotel itself is stunning inside is beautifully decorated the cleaner comes to change your towels twice a day and turns down your bed in the evening .The food omg i dont even know where to start you have four courses and it all tastes delicious the desserts are to die for you have a good choice on the menu on one particular day i didnt like anything on the main course on telling the concierge at half an hours notice he said no problem madam and asked the chef to make me up a chicken breast which was made straight away with no fuss, The breakfast was outstanding there was everything you could think of from bucks fizz to latte to plain orange juice you had a choice from a cooked breakfast to pastries fruit to cakes you could eat either in the dinning area or up by the pool with the most amazing view the pool area was so relaxing with the view it was quiet and they even put towels out on the loungers and you could just relax all day, The hotel was situated around the corner from a little supermarket and bars and resturants a stones throw away not that we used the resturants the bus stop is 2 minutes away and the ferry port about a 20 minutes walk and its a lovely walk passing some lovely shops if you fancy a browse ,back at the hotel they would have happy hour from 6-7 the barman michaelangelo what a lovely man really helpful if you wanted any local knowledge hes the man to go to he speaks perfect english and can advise you on anything in the area and on best local wines to take home, and he also makes a mean mojito !!!! we will definitely be returning to lake garda and definitely to this hotel it was outstanding i cant praise it enough myself and my husband cant say a bad word about this hotel its a 5 star hotel for us and more

Booked with crystal holidays ( part of Thomson's ) very professional and efficient
Hotel : the best I have stayed in , from the staff , always a smile on nothing to much trouble,
The food was sublime, with excellent dishes created by the chief and the team.
Bikes free from the hotel, head off to Torbole ( 10 mins cycle. ) pick up the cycle line
and head off to Arco , lovely town. Riva is a very classy resort, if you like sports cant go wrong,
with Cycling, windsurfing, very clean and the views are to die for

Room Tip: stayed in room 404 , very peaceful

Hotel/room exactly as described. Bottle of Proscecco waiting in our room and the rooftop pool and bar splendid. I got a great b&b rate on the Internet direct with the hotel for 3 nights mid July and the food each evening was very good, plenty of choice :) at check out we were given a little bottle of lemoncello which was a nice touch. Bedroom and bathroom both nice clean and lovely fresh towels and robes also at the pool. very enjoyable stay and enjoyed morning runs along the water - the weather was spectacular but you can't order that - if they could they would though as so helpful :)

Room Tip: We had the executive which I think was a good choice. Internet access not great but that's Italy...

This is a wonderful family owned Hotel which "made" our Holiday, and like others, we did not want to leave!
We well well looked after, and nothing was too much trouble. All Staff were welcoming, exceptionally friendly in and helpful all areas, from Reception to the Dining Room as well as the Sky Pool Bar, but without over fussing.

Food - Breakfast, either in the main dining room, or a more relaxing as well as scenic offering on the Sky Pool bar area was excellent, with a wide choice. Dinner was most enjoyable with quality food, verging on Fine Dining, with a good choice, all helped with a complimentary glass of Prosecco each night.

Wine, especially the House Wine was very reasonably priced, and Happy Hour at the Sky Bar from 6pm to 7pm, when all drinks were half price, brought these within a reasonable price range

The Sky Roof Virtual Pool was stunning, looking straight on to Lake Garda, and with surrounding Mountain views was simply the best way to start the day, with an early morning lone swim, followed by a sunshine breakfast round the Pool - so relaxing, something I could do this every morning!!

Rooms were large, comfortable, clean, superb wet area shower, and frequent towel changes

Many nice touches, from complimentary slices of melon in the afternoon round the Pool, to free Wi-Fi, free use of Bicycles and a complimentary farewell bottle of Limoncello !

Highly recommended, and well worth a revisit

Stayed here for 2 weeks in July and our expectations were not disappointed. The welcome, rooms, staff, food, location and cleanliness were all exceptional. We stayed in another Tonelli hotel last year and its standards were good but this hotel which is more of a boutique style was very impressive. We particularly looked forward to our evening meal which was server by very professional staff. We will have no hesitation staying in this hotel on our next visit to Riva.
