First of all, for us it was really exciting to experience a stay in a 500 years old house. The Villa is perfectly maintained , with carpets on the wooden floor all around the common areas and very clean rooms. We stayed 4 nights in a 2 room suite, so we could put our kids to sleep and stay awake in our room. The bathroom was very big, and heating was good even in cold nights.
The owner, Frederique, is a very happy and attentive gentleman. He took care of all our needs and directed us to local attractions (nearby market etc) and even were given walking trail map to the nearby nature reserve.
The villa has a great restaurant in house, and the atmosphere, eating near a fireplace in a restored medieval room was amazing. Sophie , our server , was the nicest waitress we had in this trip. She is good hearted person, who welcomes you in a big smile every morning, and I think the owners are lucky to have her.
The location is perfect- you can drive to the Valambrosa forest reserve in about half an hour, to THE MALL in 20 minutes, 10 minutes to the train station to get a 20 min direct train to Florence.
Breakfast is very good too, specially the cheese cake and croissants which I couldn't get enough from , not to mention the cold cuts, variety of cheeses, breads, butter, jams, honey, many cakes and biscuits, fruits and more.
I have spent a whole afternoon playing with my 6 years old son in the huge garden around the villa, that had a small playground, chestnuts trees and some horses to pet...
