“Enjoyable Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

I was initially disappointed that we didn't have sea views - as I imagined from the photos. Once we settled in we walked 10-15 minutes down about 400 steps to Atrani and then another 10 minutes walk to Amalfi. Atrani is a lovely village and visited Le Palme restaurant there several times. The villa was cimfortable with a large terrace. I do think the terrace could have been better presented. There was a large covered area with several tables - quite in bad condition and dirty. There was a BBQ of sorts if you could find wood.

Considering you had to climb 400 stairs with your supplies - I would have like a few more basics like slat and pepper and cooking oil, coffee. We were onlynsupplied with 2 towels for 2 people for a week and considering there is a pool - I eventually got 2 more reluctantly for the caretaker who didn't understand English. also only 1 tea towel for a week.

However it is a beautiful location and very peaceful. Enjoyed walking the surrounding hills and towns.

My husband and I spent 6 nights on the Amalfi coast, staying at Residence Villa Rosa. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would highly recommend it to others.

Our arrival was a bit rocky. We weren't quite sure how to let anyone know we had arrived, the buzzer by the gate didn't work at all. We eventually did find our way in and were shown to our room (#5) which was so, so much cuter than the pictures could have portrayed.

Our room had a nice sized bed. Loads of doors that could be opened to enjoy the breezes (just the shutters could be shut at night if we wanted to keep soaking up the breeze through the night.) A small, but useable kitchen with basic neccesities (though no oil, salt, pepper, but there is a very convenient supermarket just up the hill.) The bathroom was spacious. And our terrace was HUGE. Just huge. We enjoyed the heck out of that terrace. When the evenings turned cooler, the tiles were wonderfully warm after their day in the sun.

The view is AMAZING. Nestled between the steep hills on either side, packed with greenery and lemon trees, the town of Atrani and the sea out in front. It's just so gorgeous.

The property has a lot to offer as well. Parking is convenient to each room. There's is a gorgeous pool area with lots of lounge chairs. Several covered eating areas if you wanted to get a group together outside of your room. I think there was even a grill available. There are also laundry facilities, which my husband found quite useful.

We climbed A LOT of stairs. It took less than 10 minutes to walk down to Atrani, where there were several nice little restaurants and bars. Only 20 minutes to Atrani, for far more selection, many, many touristy shops, and transporation options to help you explore the coast. We did several hikes, there is an awful lot to see that doesn't involve going far at all. We actually rented a car and drove from Rome, but it would have been extremely easy to take the trail to Salerno and then pop off the bus right at Atrani (or even transfer to the Ravello bus if you didn't want to have to wrestly luggage UP the stairs.

Would stay here again in a heartbeat. I've already recommended it to a slew of friends.

Room Tip: you NEED a terrace! I think most of the rooms have them, but double check!
