“Very Central with Breathtaking Views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

My husband and I booked 4 nights Half Board as we were attending a wedding in Ravello. We had booked a room with a balcony and air conditioning. Our first impression of the hotel was a little disappointing. We were hoping for a better room but the views made up for everything. The pool is very small and if you wish to sunbathe you need to be there early as you can only do this one side of the pool as the other side is in the shade. There is no beach nearby. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss with food running out and not replaced so we had to wait sometimes for it to be replaced.
We had booked Half Board and I must say they were more than accommodating with us switching from Dinner to Lunch and the food was absolutely delicious and more than we could eat, huge helpings and very tasty. There is no entertainment at this hotel and we did not see the bar in use. The hotel is very central to Ravello Square, walking distance, which we found very safe and once again the views are out of this world.

Room Tip: Make sure you reserve a room with air conditioning and a balcony as not all rooms come with them.

I stayed here with a party of 9 friends to celebrate a 50th birthday. The hotel is lovely and quirky with numerous spaces to explore and a variety of sun terraces. The food is excellent! We ate out a couple of times but nothing compared to the excellent choice and quality available here...and eating on the balcony looking out to sea was superb.

The best feature of the hotel though is the staff. The owners are so welcoming. They arranged our taxis, restaurants, delivered excellent service and organised cake and decorations. Most memorable moment was watching Andy Murray win at Wimbledon. They even managed to rustle up a Pimms and Prosecco to celebrate the win. Couldn't have asked for more. Thank you!

Room Tip: My room was onto the road so a little noisy for me (but I live in a little quiet village so might no...

I thought I booked a 4 star hotel, instead I found a structure providing mediocre services: the room was poorly furnished, with very small single beds (I shared the room with a colleague), no fridge, small bathroom with no windows. I think that the position (the view from the rooms and from the hotel's restaurant is spectacular) and the fact that also the other hotels are generally pricy curb any incentive to improve services.
Breakfast was also modest: considering that this area is particularly appreciated by US tourists, it should provide a wider variety of foods: besides, bacon was mushy and scrumbled eggs overcooked.
We also had lunch: small portions, average quality.
My suggestion is: try some other hotel, even if you have to spend a bit more.

Dear guest
I'm sorry for you did not enjoy your stay at Hotel Bonadies; unfortunately you booked a standard room and the services that we provvide ( included the standard of continental buffet breakfast) are clearly written in our webpages.
Hope you will take the time to come to Ravello again; we will be more than happy to offer a better room so that you will see the difference,
Best regards

My family and I spent last week-end in this hotel in Ravello. The position of the hotel is very good and comfortable, few steps from the main square of the town, you can reach it by car to park in the private garage. The view is amazing, the hotel is endowed with many terraces looking at the seaside, fantastic to relax and get tanned. Our room was large and comfortable, clean and well furnished, with a large terrace and very beautiful “vietri style” ceramic tiles on the floor and in the bathroom too (this was well equipped, with toothbrush, nail set and so on ) We relaxed very much in the swimming pool and, above all, in the Jacuzzi pool on one of the large terraces, in the open air, looking at the fantastic outlook. You can see the mountains and the coast, the sea is under your feet....it's magic. High quality restaurant. The breakfast was great, with home-made jam and cakes, juices and a wide range of yogurt, cereals, chocolate, croissants and a continental breakfast corner with eggs, sausages, bacon and cheese. Personally, I loved the cooking of the restaurant at dinner. The menu was rich of courses, and fish was tasty, deliciously cooked and well served by kind and attentive waiters, who tried to satisfy every our request with competence and helpfulness. Very good the typical seafood and the home-made vegetables and cakes (chocolate cupcake). The owners are lovely people and try to satisfy you for everything (transfers, concert tickets, a baby sitter) Absolutely recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms are quiet and silent, very large and comfortable, fully equipped. Ask for a room with a view t...

My wife and I have recently returned from a week's holiday at the Hotel Bonadies and since our return have regailed our friends and family with not so much the infinite treasures of Ravello and its environs, but largely with the kindness and comfort we experienced at the Hotel.

From the receptionist's very first greeting to the ultimate early morning farewell, we were made to feel 'one of the family'. We felt we had entered the beautiful home of a new friend. From each generation of the kindly family which run the hotel, nothing was too much trouble. The cleanliness of the building, the comfort of the rooms (complete with stunning views) and the quality and presentation of the food all confirm that 'The guests come first.'

You cannot help but grow close to the staff; their warmth, good humour and willingness to assist is genuine. Amid the many treasures Ravello has to offer, the Hotel Bonadies is certainly one of the most memorable gems.

Signor Carrano, you have much to be proud of both in your hotel and your delightful family (Slavia was a little treasure!). We were sorry to say goodbye.Thank you for making our holiday that bit special.

We will certainly be back.

Kindest regards and fondest memories,

Pam and Douglas Ditta

This family run hotel in the beautiful town of Ravello has been in the same family for decades and the care and love they bestow on the site, the grounds, and the guests is apparent. There is a sense of pride and professionalism. The staff are fantastic, language is not an issue and one could not fault their attention. The rooms were large; ours opened onto a deck with its own spa (we shared with other adjacent rooms) overlooking the mountains and sea. The views both over the sea and inland to the mountains are spectacular. The bathroom was large and the jacuzzi shower a real treat. Beds and pillows were first class ensuring a fine sleep, rooms were very quiet. The restaurant was excellent and the night we were there (Thursday) had live music, a fine treat. Wi-Fi is available to guests. Ravello is a lovely historic town and the Hotel Bonadies is a great place to base yourself as you explore the local sites, historic areas, and shops.

When I asked to see the menu he receptionist was very pleasant and very helpful. We had a table on the terrace with the most incredible views. The waiter was charming and he advised us on what to eat.We had the cannelloni and the gnocchi which were gorgeous. We had one filet steak with gorgonzola which was the nicest steak I have ever had. We had half a litre of house white an the one glass of the red to go with steak. When we left I said to the waiter that the red was lovely and where could I buy a bottle. He said it was their wine and you couldn't buy it. As we were leaving he called me back and gave me a bottle of the red and said to think of them when we drank it. We have eaten many meals in Italy but his was one of the best.
