This is an incredible hotel which exceeds expectations from the moment you arrive. The staff is super friendly and go out of their way to assist. The hotel is better then on the pictures. The food is really really good and diverse. I would definitely recommend going for the sea facing rooms so you can wake up with the view of the Mediterranean and fall asleep seeing the moonlight over the sea. Corny but true. The only down side is that the rooms are a bit old and could do with a sprucing up and the hotel is 1km from Amalfi so you have to walk to experience the nightlife. Ravello is 5km away and you need to take a bus because it is really high up. Overall top notch hotel for romantic get always.

Room Tip: Choose a sea facing room it's worth it

We stayed four nights at Villa San Michele. We were made very welcome by Nicola and his extended family to this lovely villa perched high on the Amalfi coast at Ravello. A most picturesque spot featuring panoramic views of the coastline throughout. Dinner was excellent with beautiful meals prepared each evening - fresh, traditional and homemade. Our fitness levels improved with the journey between levels (as everything on the Amalfi Coast is up or down) and the easy 20 minute walk into the heart of Amalfi. Room was large and comfortable, again with a wonderful view from the balcony. Relaxation a must - look forward to a return visit, as we met a number of people who return to Villa San Michele often.

We could not have asked for more from our one week stay here. Provided you can cope with lots of steps and you are the kind of person who is happy to walk the relatively short distances to the next village and Amalfi then this wonderful small family run hotel is hard not to enjoy. This is the Amalfi coast so no attractive beaches, but wonderful swimming off the bathing platform. Delightful, helpful and friendly staff add to the enjoyment, as did the good wholesome food. During boat trips to Capri and Sorrento along the coast we did not see a more attractive hotel. The bus stop just outside the hotel makes car hire unnecessary.

We stayed 7 nights, and will be coming back again. Everything about this place is stunning from the location, views, the family who owns and runs this charming villa, and the food! The food is outstanding fresh, local, and homemade. The views take your breath away. A place of rejuvenation and relaxation. A heavenly place of beauty. Fitness included as stairs take you up and down this charming place.

Room Tip: Room 118 - small patio wonderful magnoila tree and views. Room 116 - great terrace and views

We stayed in this charming hotel for two nights.
If you're seeking a "room with a view" and wonderful home cooked three course meals then look no further.
The hotel gardens, the breakfast/dinner room are full of character and romantic charm. The rooms are simply appointed but the views (we had two different rooms during our stay) were nothing short of spectacular.
The wifi was poor - but we were too busy exploring the Amalfi to concern ourselves too much about internet access.
Highly recommend you go to the following gardens in Ravello to capture some amazing photographs - Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone.

Villa San Michelle has a stunning location: built into the cliff way below the town of Ravello. It is a family-run place, and includes half-board. The views from the rooms are absolutely gorgeous, and the many levels of the villa provide unexpected vistas from different angles. We had a huge terrace above the sea -- it was such a pleasure to be so immediately close to the sea. I give it a rating of 4 instead of 5 because the room wasn't great, particularly the bathroom -- the shower was very small and there was no place to put the towel. The dinners were exceptional -- the food is home-cooked on the premises and varies every days (for the 3 dinners we had). The breakfasts are boring -- they consist of a croissant and a piece of bread (the bread is fantastic though) every day.
