“tourist board need try the walk themselves to allocate signage.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

Whenever we undertake this walk, the signs are non-sequitur I this valley, since the signs for Amalfi become Atrani halfway down. To get to Amalfi from Ravello, one must pass through Pontone, via the road if possible, though no sign says this and the town maps are bad. On the upside, ask for natural lemon drink at the Blu Bar, and. chap was painting a red and white strip in the section between Pontone and Amalfi to show the way. Employ hi. for the valley leading to Ravello please!

“A Little Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

We took the steps down to Atrani, passing many panting hikers coming up. Make sure you don't miss the signs and end up walking down the road as we saw some walkers had done. There are always locals who can set you on the right track. There are some spectacular views but this whole area is full of great vistas. Unfortunately, some of the best views on the walk are obscured by a high, barbed-wire topped wall. The buses to go back to Ravello were all full but after an hour's wait we were allowed to get on a community transport minibus.

“Tough but worth it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

almost 2000 steps; definitely our sport for the day but wonderful views on the sea in between vines, lemon trees. You have to go to the Villa Rufolo for the picture postcard iconic views. From June to Sept there is the music festival... an extra motivation for climbing up the steps!

“Worth the sore legs!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

Setting off in the (slightly) cooler morning, we walked up to Ravello from Atrani and, despite tired legs and hot bodies, delighted in the views along the magnificent Amalfi coast. A walk well worth taking and the reward at the end - the truly lovely little town of Ravello set high above Amalfi - was wonderful. After exploring the town, we took a slightly different route back down via at least 700 steps - wobbly legs - stopping along the way to have lunch and admire the surroundings at leisure. The Great Ocean Road (Victoria) has been well and truly usurped! Wow!

“Prepare Yourself.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

A rigorous workout amidst splendiferous views. Not for the faint of heart or couch potatoes. the trail is mostly for donkeys and hiking fanatics, but more than worthwhile. I would not even think about trying it in reverse.
