“Excellent service and wonderful hotel”

Excellent hotel and view is breathtaking. The staff are so helpful and recommended an excellent local restaurant Trattoria Cumpa Cosimo. Would love to go there again. Well worth the money spent. local to the garden in Ravello . Amalfi coast just fifteen minutes away.
Good Breakfast,

Room Tip: Very Relaxing and beautiful area of Italy to visit.

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel for the past 2 years and I hope this helps fellow travellers if they are deciding on Amalfi Coast travel options.

Accommodation:
The rooms are basic but to be honest in Italy and particularly in this regions most hotels are traditional with European style decor. We always stay in a deluxe sea view room as they are larger and provide sufficient space. Please note that some of the rooms at the Graal can be tight and lack light so specific request when booking. The deluxe sea view rooms all have balcony and oh what a view!! The bathrooms are basic but they work as we spend most of our time out and about.

Pool:
This is where the Graal excels! amazing view looking over the Amalfi Coast. The pool itself is not large and space is limited but the views are just class!

Service:
This is a family run hotel and the staff are very friendly. As a family run hotel, do not expect 5* service but what you get is honest and friendly and sometimes things may just take a little longer to get done.

Food:
The buffet breakfast is basic but fills the hole but the restaurant at the hotel is fantastic with once again the best view while you eat.

Location:
This hotel is nicely positioned in Ravello, 5mins walk to main square where all the bars, restaurants and attractions are. It is 15min cab or 20min bus ride from Amalfi itself so if you want to be away from the hustle/bustle Ravello is a great place. Please Note that Ravello itself is a more up market town so can be pricey compare to other places along the Amalfi Coast.

Recommendation:
My wife, family and I love this hotel and place and we have been here two years on the trot over Jul/Aug and are back in jul 2015. Ravello is a great base and the Graal ticks the boxes for us and what we need whilst in Italy as there is so much to see and do so every year is a different destination, different food and wine. The Graal is a solid 3/4* hotel. I hope this helps fellow travellers.

We were staying in Naples, but fancied a night on the Amalfi Coast, so popped across on the ferry to Sorrento and hired a car, having booked a night at the Graal.
We were out of season, and didn't want to spend a fortune having already paid for accommodation in Naples, so choices were limited.
Ravello is a great place to stay, up high and feels less cramped than down below, even in March.
Positives of the Graal are: good location just thru the tunnel from the square; fan-bloody-tactic views; friendly staff.
Negatives: hotel is a little tired, but we expected that; what we didn't expect was initially no water, and when that was sorted, no hot water; no shower curtain over bath, although proper shower attachment for the cold shower; offered breakfast on our laps or in our room; pillows that, I hope, will be replaced for the high season. In short it was open in off season, which I'm grateful for, but wasn't really coping.

Just outside to town wall. Comfortable alternative to staying in the more expensive 4/5 options in Ravello itself. Good friendly & helpful service. Try to get a balcony to see the amazing view it will take your breath away

My friend and I stayed here at the beginning of October, we paid extra for single use of a twin room. My room had dark plasticised walls, one of the patio doors had been boarded up, and the wood was all water stained with a large 5inch hole at the top. The lighting was extremely dim with no ceiling light. My friend had a wardrobe with a hanging rail 8ft high and was provided with a pole to try to access her clothes from fixed coat hangers. Plus we were right next to the lift which was noisy. We paid nearly as much for one single room as somebody else staying there did for a double for 2 weeks. The family who own the hotel were not at all friendly, and the bar was never staffed and you felt as though you were troublesome asking for one. The views however were stunning with a lot of renovation and some training in hotel hospitality this could be a stunning hotel.

if you want a great Amalfi coast view then this would be hard to beat. Ravello is away from the crowds down by the water but the views more than make up for that. We paid a bit more than other parts of our trip but service was friendly and efficient and we had the added bonus of being only about 100m from the bus stop. Allow plenty of time to deal with very slow bus trips along the coast and up the hill to Ravello. Ann and dean, Australia.

Says it all really!

We were lucky enough to be in the hotel during the church celebrations which happen on 21st September in the little village below Ravello, which all of the hotel balconies overlook. Be warned though - the astoundingly bright and loud fireworks explode pretty much level with the hotel, and the noise ricochets up and down the valley - don't bring your pets here at this time of year! Quite a fantastic display though. We enjoyed the spectacle whilst drinking prosecco and eating parma ham, artichoke hearts and olives. A great evening.

As others have written, hotel is dated and is not in the luxury class, but then it is not in the $1000+ per night category either. Breakfast is limited buffet coach trip style, but to be honest, with such great restaurant food everywhere, you really don't want much more than a cappuccino anyway!

There is a renowned restaurant with similarly great views attached to the hotel - we did eat there once and had great service but were not so taken by the food - we'd had such great food over the previous 10 days maybe we made a poor menu choice.

For those who live on wifi beware - some rooms have great coverage, some almost nothing.

Room Tip: Go for the -1 level junior suite with spa bath - balconies are private and not overlooked.
