“A gem.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

I stayed here for New Year's Eve. The place combines old stone and buildings with modern design. You actually get miniature bottles of wine in the mini bar which is a nice touch. Lovely pool, surroundings and best of all - close to Ragusa Ibla - home to some of the nicest restaurants in Sicily. The breakfast was outstanding and of a very high level. Our only complaint was that the rooms were cold when we arrived but this was seen to immediately.

Room Tip: The suites are gorgeous especially for couples maybe with small kids. The rooms offer better value f...

Stayed for 4 nights over New Year and loved it! The place is a beautifully renovated stone building, surrounding a typical Sicilian courtyard with olive trees.Rooms are all on ground level, which is great if you have mobility problems, and there is lots of outside space to sit, relax and look at the panoramic views, down to the sea.Located just off the SS115 motorway, which is a great 'plus', as hotel easy to find, and safe to get back to late at night.Easy access to Ragusa and Modica where you will find fantastic restaurants.Ample secure parking.Rooms are just wonderful. Not cluttered, but classy and furnished with quality pieces, extremely comfy beds, expensive cotton linen, and big fluffy pillows.Had best sleep, and no noise from road at all, as windows are double glazed and even when you sit out on the terrace, the road is not noisy, so don't worry about that.Bathroom was luxurious, with lots of toiletries and big fluffy bath towels.Flat screen TV and nice well stocked mini bar with good prices.Whole place is spotless, and I mean spotless.Never stayed at such a clean place in Sicily before. The maid did an excellent job and nothing was too much trouble for anyone. But the best part was the breakfast.A table heaving with fresh local produce, like lots of cold meats, cheeses, eggs, breads, mouth watering cakes and little pastries, freshly sqeezed juices, cereals, fruit, yoghurt and more! Choose what type of tea or coffee you like and a lovely smiling lady serves you, and then take a coffee and sit on the terrace and 'chill' and gaze at the mesmerising view. Big beautiful pool for the summer months.
Cannot fault the place, except maybe an English TV channel would be nice, but I think maybe that will come in the future.Wi Fi worked better on the terrace, but that was not a problem either. Did not use the fitness part of the hotel, so cannot comment on that.Excellent value for money, lovely friendly people, best food ever and I for one will be back. Thanks to everyone for making this trip so special.

Room Tip: all rooms are great, but if you are disabled then say so, as the disabled room is excellent, with hig...

Excellent setup with great rooms and great views, only a drop away from Ragusa Ibla which is the Old City.
Breakfast was mouth watering and unusual to other Italian hotels.
Very Clean and helpfull people.
Will do this again if or when in Ragusa.
Ray

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent but the double bed rooms are heaven on earth.

“La Dimora di Spartivento” was an unexpected discovery, which turned out to be truly
stupendous. What a pleasure to stay there .The buildings has been recently renovated to the highest standard and very beautiful. The rooms are comfortable, cosy, delightful, spacious and very clean.
Not to be left out is the warm welcome of all the staff, which was truly helpful, and the mouth watering homemade cakes which are served daily at the breakfast are a treat, by a delightful cook, who was a total treasure.
The grounds are well kept and very beautiful with spectacular views over Modica, although we didn’t use the swimming pool, the pool area is very nice with a kids play
area.
I would wholeheartedly recommend it and I do hope that we would visit it soon in the near future.

Room Tip: We had a standard double and there was nothing to complain about.

We opted to stay here on short notice--and it couldn't have worked out better! The hotel, converted from several former stone farm buildings, opened in July 2012. It stands alone on a ridge about five miles from Ragusa, very close to a major two-lane roadway. That gave us some pause when we first saw it, but highway noise was essentially imperceptable inside the hotel. The rooms are handsomely outfitted and extremely comfortable. There's a beautiful pool with views that extend for miles, all the way to the sea. Breakfast, including innumerable homemade treats, would be hard to beat anywhere. The "padrone," Luca, was very solicitous and invited several guests to a major winetasting at the Planeta vineyard, about 40 minutes away. If that opportunity presents itself, don't miss it!

What an unexpected pleasure to check into the Dimora!
We had no idea what to expect as the hotel had just opened when we checked in.
We had a huge room for the four of us with a loft area for the kids, lovely pool with a breathtaking view over the valley onto Modica.
The staff went out of their way to help make us feel at home, the GM Luca was delightful
Breakfast is a treat with home made cakes and biscuits. Oh and I loved the fact that everything in the minibar is 0 food miles!
The experience is worth way more than we paid. Definitely going back!
