“Beautiful surroundings for a relaxing holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

Had a really wonderful holiday here with my friend. We shared a twin room on the upper floor which had a big balcony with a fantastic view over the pool and luscious gardens and the mountains in the distance. We were upgraded on arrival I think because the hotel was quiet, which was a fantastic start to the vacation and very much appreciated. Its a characterful small boutique hotel with 25 rooms, set around a pool with very well kept tropical gardens. All the staff were wonderful, and we were made to feel very much at home. We ended up not hiring a car but hiring bikes from the hotel and stayed in the local area enjoying the small town of Pula and the nearby Nora beach. One day we took a 50 min bus ride into Cagliari to enjoy the old town. We were also lucky as our October booking came with a free spa session and massage which was very wonderful. Special mention must go to Arcolla and Baggio for treating us so well. Help was always on hand from local travel/ restaurant advice to booking tables to ordering in a take away pizza as they only have a limited evening menu selection. One evening we were treated to a bottle of wine and a very special gift of Baggios very own olive oil - superb! Highly recommended

“A glimpse of Yester Year”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

The 'Yester Year' we refer to is where courtesy and consideration were tantamount, when owners and staff in hotels were charming, friendly and enthusiastic; where thought and care had been taken over apartments, grounds, swimming pools and every aspect of holiday accommodation that might make a guest feel special. All this we found at Nora Club Hotel. We left with regret.

“lovely hotel on a lovely island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

We went to Nora Club Hotel to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We had a lovely room with a terrace (I think this was an upgrade).

The two highlights of the hotel are the staff and the gardens with pool. All the staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. Francesco had previously worked in England and spoke excellent English. He was always cheerful and was a great source of help and advice for example, for places to visit, or where to eat - he even booked restaurants on our behalf. The other person we must mention is Valentina who served us most days at breakfast - she was so lovely to us and made us feel very welcome.

The hotel gardens which surround the pool are delightful and they go to a lot of trouble to keep them looking good. It was a perfect way to relax - going for a swim, sitting on a sun lounger surrounded by greenery.

The rooms were quite basic but perfectly adequate and kept immaculately clean as was the rest of the hotel. We did have a problem with the air conditioning which was an essential to us as we are not used to the heat - they did respond quickly to try and get it sorted out.
Kettles and tea making facilities are provided but don't seem to be put out in every room - we do think that it would be a good idea if this was done as a matter of course.

We thought the breakfast was very good. We had ham or salami and eggs offered each day. There was fruit such as lovely fresh melon. There was a warm cabinet full of croissants and other pastries. There was also boxes of cereals, yoghurt offered, biscuits, cheese, bread and wonderful coffee. Certainly plenty to choose from.

There is a wide choice of restaurants, some of them fantastic, reasonably close by. Walking into Pula takes about 15 - 20 minutes or a couple of minutes by car. A car is essential if you want to visit some of the other beaches. Other beaches such as Cala Cipolla are really worth a visit and we regretted not heading out that way sooner.

The archaeological site at Nora is definitely worth a visit and you are taken around by a tour guide. We also did a trip into Cagliari and took an open top bus tour - again worth doing.

We would recommend going to Nora Club Hotel if you want a very relaxing and friendly place to go.

“Good but rooms in need of updating & investment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012 via mobile

Nice hotel with lovely pool in tranquil gardens which all of the rooms look out on to. Rather pricey for what it is but i guess you're paying for having a small spa on site which we didn't use as this was rather expensive too. They really need to discount this substantially for guests to encourage use of it. We didn't see anyone in it while we were there. Surely it's better that it provides some income rather than nothing?

We were allocated a standard room, no. 53 on arrival. The room was very dark and smelt damp because all the light was obliterated by a very large palm tree in front of the window. This really needs cutting down. The owner said they were full so they couldn't change our room. When Francesco came on duty, he was much more helpful & obliging & managed to move us to a better room. The rooms were of a good size and clean. For the price they charge, they really should offer tea & coffee making facilities in the room and I'd expect better fixtures & fittings in the bathroom which were very cheap and rather dated as were the electricals in the bedroom.

We reported on day 1 that our safe didn't work but they weren't able to fix it During our stay so we had to take our ipad & SLR camera everywhere with us. The fridge broke on day 2 as did the TV. They managed to get the TV working but not the fridge. No reduction in price was offered when we left, just a drink on the house!

Francesco was very helpful as he spoke good English and recommended a couple of restaurants & nice beaches.

Breakfast was OK, you just have to ask for hot food rather than it being available on the buffet. The breakfast coffee was the best we had in Sardinia.

We had spent the previous 3 days at the Mariposas Hotel in Villasimius which is a family run hotel, cheaper but of a much higher quality all round and brilliant staff.

We throughly enjoyed Sardinia which is a wonderful island and stunning beaches. You really must have a car to appreciate all the wonderful beaches and countryside otherwise you'd miss out on so much. We'd also suggest that you stay at a couple of different areas on the island to really get the best out of your trip.

“A perfect relaxing hotel, with perfect staff.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

If southern Sardinian is your holiday choice, then you'll be fully aware of the slower pace, the quieter surroundings and the nicer beaches of it's northern shores. Taking this into consideration, you couldn't do any better than the Nora Club Hotel. The surrounding gardens with all the rooms nicely set around a lovely pool make this a perfect haven for kicking back and relaxing with a good book or two. If this wasn't enough the staff are a perfect additive to a great hotel. Francesco and Baggio were both attentive and welcoming, assisting us with restaurant bookings and other suggestions for nearby attractions - our car battery died one afternoon and by the morning a set of jump leads and a maintenance man were with us to save the day; nothing seemed too much bother. The hotel is situated between Nora beach (a pleasant beach enjoyed by locals) and the small town of Pula (possessing enough restaurants and bars to eat and drink at a different one each night) both of which are about a 15 minute walk. Pula is a nice town, can be lively at weekends but if you're in southern Sardinia the main pull are the beautiful beaches which you do need a car to enjoy.

We're always reluctant to revisit holiday destinations, however, were we to go back to any of our previous haunts, Nora Club Hotel would be top of the list. Highly, highly recommended.
