“Breathtaking view and excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

Very beautiful boutique hotel on the edge of a cliff. Beautiful architecture and interior design.
We have been upgraded to a room with a terrace and see view. What a view on Capri, Positano and Amalfi coast.
Concierge service very helpful and very careful staff.
Need to walk down (en then up) 300 steps to swim in the sea where chairs and towels are offered to hotel guests.
Free shuttle service to Positano every hour (seats need to be booked).
The room is quiet small considering price.
The breakfast is not included in price (25 Eur per person). Which is a shame considering prices.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with my husband during a 10 day trip in Italy. The biggest mistake we did was that we ONLY stayed for 2 nights! From the moment you walk in, you can tell that is a special place. The staff all so friendly and smiling in their crisp blue and white linen uniforms; the manager roaming around smiling to everybody and making sure things are under control and and and... The estate is well furnished in modern, simplistic and elegant whites with a splash of color from the art pieces spread all over the place, which any staff member is ready to explain about. The food, breakfast and desserts are amazing. The rooms are also a pleasant surprise. There are 2 wings: the romantic section, and the relaxing section - difference being that the relaxing section has bigger balconies with sunbeds on them i believe, but i am not sure. We stayed at the romantic one. The location of the hotel is great. The town of Praiano is just a few minutes away from the busy Positano. The drive there from the train station was a bit disturbing, but we got used to the twisted road. The views from the hotel are simply serene. We rented a scooter to move around, which was arranged by the hotel staff and much more recommended that renting a car. Also the hotel provides a shuttle service to Positano at appointed times. We also took a half day trip to Capri, a must when you are in the area. I must point out that like most properties along the amalfi coast, the hotel is on the cliff and to get to the beach there is a pathway of 200 steps (the hotel staff pointed out the number). Going down is fine, but going up the steep stairway was a pain. The beach access that is provided by the hotel is good. It is a charming little place with good music run by a funny character whose name i can not remember! All in all, this hotel experience was a fantastic one, albeit an expensive one too! I would be happy to go there again in the future.

Room Tip: we stayed in room 310, it was a good one.

After a beautiful (if slightly twisty turny) journey from Naples airport we arrived at Casa Angelina and felt relaxed from the moment we stepped into the foyer. Staffed with smiling people dressed in linen and talking in hushed tones (you get the picture), the attention to detail is second to none. Every drink comes with a snack companion, you get a goodnight gift left on your pillow every night, twice daily sorbet tasters by the pool, a Nespresso machine in your room ensures that you can have that first cup of coffee without changing out of your PJs and I think we only mentioned our room number once which was enough for them to remember it for the rest of our stay.

The location is stunning. Just the other side of Positano (with a free regular shuttle provided of course) and feeling like it's right on the edge of the cliff, you get unrivalled views across the coast. There is a small but perfectly formed pool area with soothing tunes playing in the background, but if you prefer something a little livelier then there's a "beach" down below. But, be warned, it's 250 steps down....and therefore back up....and a distinct lack of sand....more of a rock shelf. That said, the main man provides a lot of entertainment, dancing with everyone, dishing out free sorbet and watermelon and even patrolling the sun loungers with a device to spray your feet with iced water.

The hotel restaurant is definitely worth at least one visit (although do remember to book a table in advance and ask for one by the edge for the best view). A freeglass of champagne as you sit down, endless snackerels in between courses from the chef and the most beautiful home made bread selection are all complimentary. Enough said.

It isn't cheap but then this is the Amalfi coast and if you're going to treat yourself then this is the place to do it.

This is a very special Hotel, it has a perfect location, views are spectacular. You cannot fault the presentation, grounds and public areas are exceptional, service first class and our room was very large with a small balcony, stunning view towards Positano. It is peaceful, we chose this property because we did not want to be in a noisy, busy place like Sorrento or Positano. It is expensive and we decided not to pay an additional 25 euro each for breakfast, instead going to Bar del Sol a short walk away for lovely coffee and croissant next morning at a fraction of the price. The problem we had was the noise from a wedding held at the Hotel on the night we stayed. Unfortunately our room was directly under the dining room and so we were unable to escape the noise of the reception. When the wedding party very noisily moved down the staircase to another part of the property and the band started up we still weren't spared as it was in a garden area directly to the side of our room. Very early next morning we were woken again by preparations for breakfast being held in the dining room. Lots of scraping of chairs and tables seemed to be going on, perhaps they were re arranging things after the wedding. We obviously got the worst deal in terms of room location - be careful to make sure this does not happen to you if you decide to stay at Casa Angelina - for 465 euro it was a real shame to be so disrupted in our sleep. Avoid the 3rd floor completely (dining room is on the 4th floor) and ask to be in one of the buildings well away from where functions are held. I can't understand why they would not put wedding guests in these rooms as they are the ones making the noise! Unfortunately the bar snacks were stale too which is a small thing but for that sort of money should not be happening.

This hotel was amazing and worth every penny!!! It is truly spectacular and has amazing views of Positano and the Amalfi Coast. Our room was white from floor to ceiling but totally pristine - we think they must have a full time painter! We had a great view from our pool sun loungers, where you could order delicious food as a poolside snack. If the pool isn't for you there is a fabulous beach 250 steps below that the hotel provides free vouchers for. It is definitely worth the 250 steps as well!!! We had dinner in the hotel one evening and can't speak highly enough about our dining experience - highly recommend it! They also provided a hotel fitness instructor who took yoga and pilates classes in the morning and was also available for one-to-one sessions in the gym. He was superb and extremely helpful! We would love to return to this hotel!

If you are comfortable with "paying for what you get" then this is the place on the Amalfi Coast for you to stay.
It is not cheap, but for a high end hotel it is very good value in my opinion.
The location is beautiful, the hotel operation is very professional, the staff are excellent, the food is very good. There are no weaknesses to this hotel.
If I ever return to visit the Amalfi Coast, I would stay here again and not even consider another location.

We spent part of our honeymoon at Casa Angelina the week of July 1, 2013! The pictures online really don't give justice on how truly special this hotel is. Everything from the service......by far the best we have ever seen, the servers so professional, nice and friendly to talk too, cleaning is spectacular! Just the little touches they do at this hotel like turning your bed sheets over and leaving a goodnight treat by your bed with water and slippers by your side of bed is just a small example of how the service standards are! The view is breathtaking and is truly a hotel where it bring the pure elements of relaxation and beauty. This hotel is STRONGLY recommended and we will be definitely going back!
