I stayed at the Tritone with my girlfriend for 4 nights in mid-Sept, and we had a fantastic time. The hotel is located a 15+ min walk outside of the small town of Praiano and a 10-15 min scooter ride to both Positano and Amalfi. We liked that it wasn't right in the heart of a town, which made it less touristy, but we still were close enough to busier areas if we wanted to get out and be more social. The hotel itself is well kept, although not flawless. Rooms were comfortable with stunning views, but did show a bit of wear, with furniture and fixures a bit older. The hotel is kept extremely clean & polished in common areas and hallways. Navigating thru the hotel itself (and the stairs down to the coast) is an adventure. Most of the clientelle seemed to be 40+, although there were some couples there in their 20's & 30's. If you're looking for something less in classic mediterranean and more trendy/stylish, the Casa Angelina down the road might be preferable. The Tritone staff was always friendly and super helpful in making arrangements (with good English skills) and while I'm not always in the habit of eating in hotel restaurants (prefering to explore) we had two fantastic dinners at Tritone. The included breakfast buffet was fairly basic, a standard situation in Italy. All in all, I'd strongly recommend Tritone as a very comfortable, romantic getaway.
