“Nice hotel, amazing staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014

The hotel is good and clean, can't fault it. Room was a good size (even though we stayed in the cheapest one I think), 'partial sea view' was still stunning. The view from breakfast, which is plentiful and tasty, was beautiful, we sat on the balcony for our breakfasts which was lovely.

The best thing about this hotel though is the staff! So friendly and welcoming, they have a great knowledge about the area and were willing to help us out with anything we needed. Plenty of restaurants in Praiano, many which will pick you up/drop you off which was handy as the hotel is up a fairly impressive hill! Also if you want to go to Positano the local bus stops right outside the hotel with regular journeys. The hotel also provides a free shuttle service to/from the beach which again is so useful and just shows how willing they are to help.

We did the 'path of the gods' which had stunning views, we did not go from Praiano but got instead a bus to Amalfi, explored there for a couple of hours, then got a bus to Bomerano. (I would recommend doing it this way, and get a sandwich for the walk in Amalfi while you're there!).

All in all great hotel, even better staff, definitely recommend staying here!

Also as a side note, getting to the hotel from the airport is simple, bus from the airport to Sorrento (stops right outside the airport), then bus from Sorrento to Amalfi (get off at Praiano), the bus from Sorrento to Amalfi is in the same bus stop and runs roughly every hour if I remember right. (And when you arrive in Praiano, give the hotel a ring and they can pick you up to avoid you walking up the hill with your luggage, we found this out a little to late though!)

On the second stop of honeymoon, we stopped in Praiano and stayed at Hotel Holiday. When we arrived it was pouring and they sent a car to pick us up. The driver, Antonio, was great! He arrived quickly, loaded our belongings and suggested a few things to do as well as a few places eat. Check-in was very quick and painless. The rooms were spotless, nicely sized and the view from the balcony was stunning. The breakfast was great and stocked with a variety of fresh foods and beverages. We were looking to do something that would keep us physically active while there and the lady at the counter, Mariana, suggested that we hike the Path of the Gods. The hike was amazing. So much so that we hiked all the way to Positano which took about 6 hours but was worth every step. The view from the mountain tops are AMAZING!
Angelo, the hotels MVP, in our opinions, was GREAT! He was funny, very well educated on the area and is a great help all around. In fact the entire staff was a great help! The hotel was top notch and staff treated you like family! What more could you ask for?

All the good things:
- With no exception, we have never been so well treated, as we were at the hotel Holiday.
They really helped us a lot getting bustickets, and figuring out what to do every day.
All so good (- apart from the minor detail, I'm a medical student and better educated than my boyfriend, and was only seen as "the wife". - I think that's Italian!)

- The hotel is very neat, and clean - very important to some
- We had no problems with the internet/wifi
- The hotel has its own parking lot
- it's a quiet place, you won't have party-people being noisy
- it has the most wonderful view

The bad things:
- The beds were very bad, and we didn't sleep that well any of the nights. It didn't ruin it for us, but it might be important for some.
- The walls are very thin - but it's an old building, and that's what to expect.
- it was a long walk to the beach

In general:
- Dont' bring your car to Amalfi coast - The shuttle bussystem is very well functioning and parking is expensive, - the driving is crazy and very stressfull.
- Get a GPS if you want to rent a car !!! - and pay for the highways !!!
- Praiano is pretty great if you want to stay in a town that's not filled with turists, and it's easy to catch busses. Amalfi and Positano is very crowded. But if you want stay out late, and have easy walking distance to the beach and lots of restaurants, this is not the hotel for you.

We stayed for a week at this family owned and run hotel in beautiful Praiano just out of the rat race on the Amalfi Coast.
This very friendly family were always happy to assist, making out stay absolutley wonderful.
But make sure you ask for a room with a full ocean view...you wont be disappointed

We stayed for only 1 night during a whirl-wind 5-day tour of the Amalfi coast with the purpose of finding the right place to stay for a large family trip in 2015. We checked in early which allowed us to walk to Nocelle via the Path of the Gods that same afternoon. Angelo, who spoke an excellent English, gave us instructions and advice on how to find the path, hike up 1 hour to catch the main trail, catch the bus at Nocelle to Positano (which is best seen by arriving by sea or bus) and again a bus back to Praiano, where the bus stops almost directly in front of Hotel Holday. He was also helpful with instructions when we went down the stairs (20 min.) to the beach. The hotel is delightfully bright and modern, the rooms comfortable and clean (only the safety box was out of order), the breakfast buffet rich and best enjoyed on the terrace with the stunning view of the coastline. Good parking just next to the hotel where the staff take good care of your vehicle. A notch too expensive for what it is, in our view, but then again the Amalfi cost price level is just a bit exagerated.

Room Tip: If you a happy with just a sea view any room will offer that. If you would like a view on the dramat...

Dear Mr Coldins,
it is a pleasure reading your lovely review and first of all i thank you so much for doing that!
Regarding the safe i just want you to know that was not out of order because the next day, after another couple called me i figured out that the batteries were discharged!
If only he asked me to check the safe for you i would immediately replaced the batteries but you didn't tell nothing so i guess, you forgot to advise me!
I remind you once again that, in our hotel, every room is different as you could notice when you saw the other category (room number 4) so, if you decide to vist us in a different time let me know and i'll be happy to provide you one with a better sea view.
I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed stay with us and i hope to see you once again with all the family!

This is a small, family run hotel. Everyone was friendly and accommodating beyond the call of duty. They are located in an ideal spot, The towns east and west of them we much louder at night and packed with tourist. If you want to experience Italian hospitality, this is the place. The local restaurants, not the expensive tourist traps, that will pick up and drop you off at the front door, so no need for a car. The "Walk of the Gods" is with a few blocks and the hotel view is spectacular. The family also made excellent recommendations regarding shopping and meals.

Room Tip: Go for the view. You will appreciate the balcony each and every morning and evening.

From the view on our balcany to the front desk staff, this is a quite quant hotel for anyone looking for a great location on the Amalfi Coast..the hotel staff were the most hospitable accomodating you could ask. Family owned, all recommendations for dinner and directions, special diet requests for breakfast, etc....if you want to get close to the culture and nature of how this country lives, there is the local grocery store right down the street, restaurants within walking and restaurants that will pick and drive you back home!!!
