After taking the 400+ steps down from our hotel to this smaller beach (can also get to the main beach and walk across), my daughter and I had a wonderful day soaking up the sun with mostly Italians. Much less touristy than the main beach in Positano, this beach is still crowded in August, but it is easy to purchase a chair and umbrella. We had called ahead to reserve a chairs/umbrella, but I think it was unnecessary. We went to da Ferdinando (one of the 4 vendors on the beach), and they were very nice. There is a nice little restaurant, with remarkably good food (Panini's, salads, etc.) and ice-cold beer. Also, bring something to collect sea glass -- while the specimens are small, the colors are evocative of the various colors of the Mediterranean Sea!
