We recently stayed in the honeymoon suite of villa Fiorentino for 2 glorious weeks. The apartment is stunning, palatial and absolutely private, the views awesome and the location brilliant. The one downside however are the 160 stairs that you need to go up to reach the apartment. These stairs are outside, some are quite steep and wrap around the building so it's an effort climbing them a couple of times a day especially after enduring all the stairs of Positano itself. These stairs are made more frustrating by the fact that the possibility exists to create a back entrance to the apartment from the street behind, which would mean virtually no stair climb. However, despite all these stairs, there is absolutely no doubt that its worth the climb as when you get there its just magical and we just threw ourselves in our private pool and were instantly cooled down and in heaven. We had the privelage of meeting the lovely Paula who prepared a decadent feast for us on our second last night in the apartment and shared with us stories of the Fiorentino family and the history of the villa but apart from this we were left pretty much on our own which suited us as we like our privacy and independence. Whilst the suite is absolutely stunning, there were a few things that are a bit tired like the pool towells (which were not replaced once during our 2 week stay), the covers on the sofas and the ironing board. Just a shame that these minor details were overlooked because everything else was literally heavenly. We would definitely go back.
