“Lovely hotel in Positano”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014

Fabulous hotel! We stayed in the beautiful Villa with our family of 5. We fell in love with Rafella the older women who grew up in the historic Villa. The view from our Villa was sublime! The morning breakfast was absolutely delicious...best one yet! Antonella the hotel manager was very accommodating...we just loved her!

Room Tip: Stay in the historic Villa :)

Lovely room, amazing views, amazing pool, amazing staff! The day we spent at hotel pool was the most relaxing day of our 10 day vacation. The pool is beautiful and the view from the terrace breath taking. There was one staff member dedicated to waiting on people at the pool. We were able to order drinks and food. He brought us towels and rearranged our chairs and umbrella to keep us in the shade. The front desk staff were the most helpful I have ever encountered. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful. The room was lovely and a nice size for a European room. The location is up the hill from the beach. If taking the bus, make sure to get off at the second stop in Positiano.

The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. Best location for the beach. We visited other hotels in the area and decided that we would stay at Hotel Marincanto again when we return, based on location, helpful friendly staff, and the most amazing view!!!!!!

Hotel Marincanto was amazing!!! my husband and I were there for our honeymoon and we loved. we were on the fourth floor over looking the dinning and pool area and the view of Positano itself was breathtaking. The staff was incredible and very accommodating. Can't wait to stay here again.
Definitly have dinner at the restaurant one night the food was delish.

Room Tip: wifi connection was not very good they need to update that. Have dinner at the hotel one night AMAZ...

Stunning location!! Beautiful infinity pool. Very good service from Gianni at the pool. Rooms very dated and a bit disappointing compared to rest of hotel. We were in a room directly above Positanos disco and the music didn't finish up until past 3.00am!! A few small negatives... We came back to our room at 3pm after being out the whole day to find the room hadn't been cleaned. Had to request a clean. Requested extra pillows which never arrived, had to chase up. Turn down service never happened on occasion as advertised. All small details but details I expect attention to be paid to when paying 500 Euros a night as we did! Overall, a nice stay.

My wife and I stayed here for a few days during our honeymoon. Overall, a nice stay with a few exceptions.

Positives:
- Enza at the front desk was incredibly helpful with reservations, suggestions, and general information about the area.
-Beautiful location/architecture overlooking the city
-Honeymoon suite was spacious
-Breakfast wasn't great but good
-Pool/lounge areas nice
-Beautiful balcony
-Champagne service to room complimentary for honeymoon.
- Beach was nice but 15 euro a person
- Decently nice rooms/ammenities for the price

Negatives;
-Honeymoon suite was at the very bottom of steps (approx 150 steps or so before the final stretch to the beach).
- The room was still being cleaned when we got to it (we checked in and they told us it would be ready). So we had to walk all the way down and then all the way back up.
- It was quite humid during our stay and the air conditioner was mediocre at best.
-The honeymoon suite has a "pool/bathtub" that has great views..but also has an open window that can't be closed which makes the room quite humid and caused the glass/windows to fog.

We knew this going in so not a negative or a positive, but there is a lot of walking (up) to get to the hotel and then up and down at the hotel. Helps with all the rich food you eat, though!

This was the perfect Hotel for our group of 12. Each family of 4 had a family room (rooms 255, 260 and 258) which I think were the best rooms in the hotel. We were definitely the closest to the Sea and the views were spectacular. When there were fireworks one night for the feast of St Peter in the harbour, it was like we had front row seats - they were so loud and the setting was so spectacular. The breakfast was fantastic, the pool was great, and the staff were always helpful. Enza and Antonella on the desk were always so happy and helpful, but Gianni, the pool boy, was the stand out. He had towels ready for us when we got out of the water, and a Chardy always on stand-by.
