WOW!! This hotel is perfect, do not stay anywhere else if you stay in Positano!!! I just got back and spent 3 nights here while on the Amalfi Coast. The location is the best in Positano. At the bottom of the stairs is the beach, which you can quickly walk the boardwalk to the heart of town. It may take less than 10 minutes. You can also walk down the hill on the road which is less than 15. There is a chic beach deck at the bottom of the stairs, it was not hopping at our visit, but I read in a guide book that it's a great scene with a bar and sun chairs. It's set up on concrete so "the ladies that like to wear heels" to the beach don't have any problems :) Music on the Rocks is at the bottom of the stairs too, we went it's a great club, carved out of rock, great DJ and you are just steps, well about 100 stairs from your room. There are multiple sun decks to use and the pool is beautiful. We stayed in a standard room which was spacious and had a wonderful terrace with a view of the hill of Positano. The ideal thing is that you are facing the hill, other hotels are located in town and are part of the hill which would be a disappointment as you would miss that post card view. Even if you don't stay here, find a hotel on this side of the hill. The Sita bus stop is less than a 5 minute walk which is VERY handy. We took a taxi from Naples for $90E but if you take the bus here it's great. Also when you travel to other towns it's great to take the ferry there and the bus back as they run later than the boats. DONT MISS RAVELLO and the Villa Cimbrione. I thought I died and went to heaven. If you only take one sightseeing trip out of Positano go here, or stay in Ravello for a night or two. I could not believe my eyes that there is a place this beautiful and utterly amazing. There is a hotel on the grounds, not sure of rates. We had lunch at Hotel Palumbo and the view is breathtaking!! Amalfi town is worth a 20 minute peek but then go right up the mountain. We also went to Sorrento, which was very beautiful and a fun small city. Sitting in cafes there is great and the shopping is wonderful. We had dinner in Positano at Le Sieranuse hotel, worth the price tag, strolling musicians, 400 candlelit terrace, very romantic. We also had dinner at Bruno, across from the hotel, nice meal and a great view. Enjoy your trip :)
