“Great beach great staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

We went to Arienzo 4 times during our stay in Positano, we tried other beaches, we kept on coming back. The food there was good, not great but it is a beach restaurant, flip flpos shorts and t-shirt, some did not have that. As for staff , terrific.

“Great swimming beach!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

We caught the free shuttle to Arienzo beach (departs every 30 mins from Spaggia Grande) and you have to rent a lounger for the day at Arienzo (10 euros per lounger) but the pebble beach is great and very swimmer friendly with a lovely and very reasonably priced bar. We rented a kayak (only 5 euros for one hour) and went to a rather secluded nearby beach where people were cliff jumping into the water. Amazing experience!

“Great beach - worth the money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

We'd been a bit disappointed with some of the beaches on the Amalfi coast, but this is a brilliant find and well worth the extra effort to get to. From the pier at Positano, a range of small boats come to transport visitors to various local beaches / hotels, and one of these will take you to Bagni d'Arienzo (clearly signed as such on the mast pole). The boat runs between about 10am and 1pm and takes a little under ten minutes to make the short trip. The boat only takes about ten people, so you may not get on first time, but it's pretty quick to come back. The boat is free, but once at the beach you need to pay to hire a sun-lounger for EUR10. There is a free beech there that you can get to by walking down steps from the road above. Getting back to nature in South Wales or Northumberland this is not - there's little spare beach space beyond the sun-loungers, and you have a constant accompaniment of music from the bar, but the sea is warm and crystal clear - you can swim in it for hours, and for comfort / convenience the whole experience can't be beaten! It's a real benefit that the bar serves excellent food for lunch. All the people working there are very friendly and make you feel completely at home. My advice would be to go for the full Med beach experience and be prepared to spend around EUR30-40 per head to get you: a sun lounger, hiring a towel to avoid lugging one around, and a delicious lunch at Bar d'Arienze at the back of the beach. There are also toilet / shower facilities.

In our experience the beach didn't get too busy (this was last week of August) but for complete peace of mind you can book sun-loungers and lunch the day before by emailing info@bagnidarienzo.com.

“Quiet and always uncrowded”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

For me the best beach of Positano. It can be reached by boat from the port of Positano (half-hourly), the cost of the beach (Bagni Arienzo) is lower than the others, as well as the restaurant and bar have affordable costs and with friendly and helpful staff. The beach is pebbly, the sea water is very clean and never crowded, even in the period of August 15 (high season), a stream of spring water (very cold) flows between the chairs. On the hill side is the villa that once belonged to the director Franco Zeffirelli.

“Quiet beach tucked away...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

Highly recommended by our host, Davide at Rifugio Degli Dei (incredible apartamente). The walk down the stairs provides incredible views. We spent the day relaxing on the beach, enjoyed a wonderful lunch of Ada's gnocci (yum) And, of course, a few glasses of wine!

Keep in mind that the beaches on the Amalfi Coast are small round stones, not sand. Really unique and special! This means that you really need to rent chairs and an umbrella for the day (8-10 euro each and well worth it, plus bathroom, changing area). The water was incredibly clean, temperature and waves were perfect. This was a very quiet, romantic setting. Service was great!

We loved its "off the beaten path" location here and can't wait to return! It was one of our best days of vacation!
