“positano B&B at its best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

thanks to all the staff celeste, francesca and paulo for the great time we had when we were in positano ending our 17 day stay in italy back in september 14-17,2012. we decided to rent here instead of a high end hotel because we had friends recommend this place to us. the accomodations were better than most hotels with a spacious room ( the red room) with ample storage that also had a lovely large balcony facing the ocean overlooking the small bay. we had breakfast on the balcony most mornings at an added cost which was minimal. the views we had enjoying the morning sun were stunning and looking at the tiny town at night was amazing. the beach area was a short 5 -8 min walk from our room. the staff in most of the shops down to the beach area were always friendly greeting you daily when you passed through. I would highly reccomend this B&B to all who are looking for a nice spot to settle be it 2 days or longer. it would be safe to say that the family runs an exceptional establishment with everyone looking out for you and all your needs. thanks again

Room Tip: if you can get a room with a balcony overlooking the bay you will not be dissapointed we had the red...

We enjoyed out stay in this lovely town, in this fabulous "residence." Some of the rooms have wonderful views, ours had a small view. The mom and family who ran the place could not have been more welcoming and wonderful. They even helped us locate the tunnel between Amalfi and Atrani when they learned we planned to walk from the Amalfi ferry. Positano is spectaular and has the most lovely women's clothes I have ever seen. Lots to do and explore. The Residence could use more comfortable seating on the patios and in the rooms, otherwise A+++++

Room Tip: Upper rooms have a better view

Recently my wife and I spent 5 days at The Residence La Tavolozza B&B in Positano Italy. We did this at the beginning of our 24 day trip through Italy. This is a family run facility that really caters to their customers. Believe me when I say that they took care of my wife and me in many more ways than just providing us with a great room with a beautiful view of Positano. Of all the hotels that we stayed in while in Italy, my wife and I both agreed that it was the best value for the money. This family can teach a few B&B owners in the U.S. how to manage their services. I have no desire to even try any of the other hotels in the area even if they are more beautiful. Even the most beautiful hotel couldn't provide us with a better view of the city. For us, it wasn't a 5 star hotel but the service WAS! Stay there! You'll be happy that you did.

If you want to see Positano but not spend a fortune then I would recommend Residence Tavolozza. The location is about two minutes from the walkway and steps to the beach (walkway to beach is approx a 10 min walk which includes 50 steps and steep hills). The residence is three buildings down from the famous Le Sirenuse hotel. The bus stop is approx. a 5 minute walk.
Celeste, Francesca, Paolo who run the residence were wonderful. We were going to stay at Le Sirenuse but it was way too expensive so we decided to stay at the residence tavolozza and have our special dinner at le Sirenuse. It all worked out well.
Our room at Residence Tavolozza was a normal size bedroom with a beautiful terrace overlooking the beach on one side and the hillside houses on the other. The 'private' bathroom was across the hall (you have to remember in the middle of the night if you have to go to the bathroom that you will be walking through a public area). I knew there was no blow dryer so I brought my own. No breakfast or wifi but we took a short walk down the street and found a place (Bar La Zagara) for fresh donuts, cappuccino and free wifi. All in all it was a great find even thought you didn't have all the conveniences. We will definitely return.

We are two couples in our 50's who have recently spent 3 nights at La Tavolozza Residence in the Royal Apartment at the top of the house. The apartment was very spacious with two huge bedrooms, lounge room and large kitchen dining area all with breathtaking views of the sea and village from a long terrace. The rooms and two bathrooms were very clean, well appointed and comfortable. Paola was a very welcoming and friendly host who could not do enough to help us with suggestions, local history and Italian tips. Positano is very beautiful and has so much to see in the immediate area including boat trips to Amalfi, bus trip to the lovely mountain town of Ravello and amazing walks. This B&B is located on one of the main streets so relatively easy to get to and is not far to the beach and many wonderful restaurants, cafes, galleries, and shops. We can highly recommend this B&B.

I can only reiterate what others have said about Celeste, Paola and Francesca. They are wonderful, welcoming and helpful,. They helped us with restaurant arragments and logistics for hiking and day trips. We stayed in the apartment at the bottom of the house. It had a small fridge and stove, which was helpful for morning coffe and snacks, and a small living room. We enjoyed having the extra space even though there were only two of us. The balcony is huge and beautiful. The location is very convenient because it is a short walk to the SITA bus stop, which we used frequently. There is also a stairway close by that does down to a delit where you can get yogurst, sandwiches, etc., with a great bakery across the way called La Zaggara that has wonderful croissants. This property is a good value for the price. The only drawback it no internet access, but for us it was nice to have a 5 day break from our i-devices. I has to cancel my original reservations for September and re-book for October and they were very gracious and helpful with that. They also arranged for a driver to pick us up at the Naples train station. I recommend doing that because navigating the Circumvesa and SITA bus with lugagge after a long flight would probably be a bit much.

Room Tip: The rooms on the level just below the entrance probably have the best panoramic views, but all of th...

Thank you Celeste, Paola and Francesca for our wonderful 5 nights at La Tavolozza. Our group of 8 can't stop talking about how perfect our stay was. Such a super location in the center of Positano, with clean rooms and outstanding service from such a caring family. I will continue to recommend this property to any who travel to the Amalfi coast, and I hope we will be back some day soon!
