We booked the Bellavista for 7 nights in early May for what was meant to be a relaxing, restful, romantic end to our 5 week European holiday!
Instead, what we got - on arrival after travelling from Tuscany & struggling with luggage down the steps and pathway to the hotel - was to be greeted (or NOT) by a family screaming match! No "Hello, how are you? Welcome to our Hotel" or even an apologetic acknowledgement! Gobsmacked, we reluctantly checked in and were taken to our room in a curt & disengaged manner.
Our room, whilst clean & comfortable with spectacular views would have been great if it weren't for the echoing noise of the regular family arguments and crying of an elderly lady who, it seemed, lived at the end of the hallway and was spoken to in the most appalling manner by the members of the family. And, we would have been able to rest easier if it weren't for the scraping of chairs & tables on the floor above us, from the dining room at breakfast each morning.
Though Breakfast & the Coffee was good, offering outdoor or indoor seating, it was tough to see a friendly or smiling face from the staff (family- a father, a son & two daughters - Italian & German speaking).
Desperate to move elsewhere, we suffered 5 (too many) of our 7 nights then left to move elsewhere, which was a blessing! We just wished we'd left sooner!
