“Fabulous friendly little hotel in perfect position”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

We stayed here in April for four nights - our family of five in one room with a pretty balcony, which was pushing it but we booked late and this was the only option available. It didn't stop us enjoying our time here enormously. Tony and Anton were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to ensure we had a good time - their recommendations were spot on, getting the car parked each day was a breeze - just handed them the keys and it was taken away, delivered back within 5 minutes when needed. Breakfasts were lovely and sunny with the staff always cheerful and willing to chat in our broken Italian, the room was spotless and the view, well, spectacular!
Thank you very much Tony - we will be back!

We stayed on the third floor of Hotel Reginella (3 flights of stairs...) with a "Sea View" room and the view of Positano was absolutely breathtaking. We spent hours just sitting on the balcony, sunning and absorbing it all. The room was spacious and comfortable (but if you don't like lumpy pillows - brace yourself!) and the continental breakfast was very good. Great location too, as the steps down to Spaggia Grande are just outside the hotel, as well as lots of little shops. If you don't want to climb the steps back up, the walk up the road is not too long and is very scenic. Front desk was very helpful in making our restaurant reservations for us.

This hotel was great! They had a super friendly staff that helped us with dinner reservations and lots more! We booked a full sea view room and it was huge ... Had two bedrooms a bath and kitchen area ... We must have been upgraded or something! It was great! Breakfast was just so so ... Not much selection ... But the coffee was good!

I was travelling around Europe with my sisters and friends a few years ago. We were going to be in Italy during summer. As it was a popular season for holidays accommodation in Positano was very expensive. My friend had organised Positano accommodation and told us not to get too excited as the website he booked from had it listed as a two star hotel but it was what we could all afford. So we arrived in Positano with not high expectations about our hotel. We walked through the front and were greeted by friendly staff who then led us to our room on the top floor. Upon entering our room we stepped into a postcard. The view was the most beautiful, breathtaking view I have ever seen. The doors opened right up onto a little balcony, it was amazing. As well as this incredible view we had a lovely room. It was huge and clean and so nice! We kept saying to our friend "are you sure you were reading it right when you saw this place was 2 star?" He must have got it wrong because ( despite this was a few years back now) there is no way hotel Reginella could ever have been a 2 star. Our time in Positano was magical and should I ever get back there one day, I will definitely stay at Hotel Reginella. Since that trip I have flicked through several magazines and come across that amazing mountainous view of Positano. I can always pick out Hotel Reginella, white with the green doors and windows and I think to myself "I guess I have been in a postcard" :)

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights during our honeymoon. We had a lovely room with a sea view and small balcony. The view from our room was spectacular. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. There are good shops, bars and restaurants nearby. It is a a bit of a trek to get back to the hotel after a day at the beach - but the same could be said of most hotels in Positano! The staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was very good. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Positano.

This hotel on the hillside in Positano was one of the great experiences of our Italian Honeymoon. We had a top floor ocean view for a week and we LOVED it. Room felt very Mediterranean with lovely decor. It was spacious with high ceilings, good air-conditioning (so useful during summer although we also often opened the doors to the balcony), lovely decor, and a balcony with The View!

Can't say enough about Tony and the way he's trained the staff about the service. Five stars. Service was excellent and quite personal. It really felt as if nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Tony was warm, welcoming and accommodating, making us feel comfortable the whole time. He recommended good places to eat nearby, and patiently answered our queries about day trips (they must have been asked this so many times!). We also loved the wonderful lady at breakfast who had a great smile and who always remembered what type of coffee we want. Because of this, breakfast was such a lovely experience.

If we find ourselves in Positano again, we will definitely stay again in this hotel. Highly recommended. Thank you Tony and family, for a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: definitely ask for a top level room if you want the best view. even though you have to hike the sta...

This hotel was one of the highlights of our trip in the Amalfi Coast. We booked a Sea View Room for 4 nights and we LOVED it. Room felt very Mediterranean with lovely decor. It was spacious with high ceilings, good air-con (so useful during summer although we also often opened the doors to the balcony), lovely decor, and a balcony with The View! We often hung out here with drinks and just gazed out at everything; we also had a terrific 'picnic' dinner one night. (There's a deli across the street!) Waking up to the view of ocean and the mountain with Positano's famed pastel colored houses was priceless. Bathroom was spacious and spotless! We were extremely comfortable in this room -- and i think this is a must during high summer since you may want to take breaks mid-day naps like we did.

Location-wise, it is perfect since Spaggia Grande the beach was easily accessed via steep stairs just across the street -- or you can turn left and pass through the shops all just a 5- to 10-minute walk away. So many shops, restaurants and cafes are nearby, you'll be spoilt for choice.

Can't say enough about the service. Five stars. Service was excellent and quite personal. It really felt as if nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Tony and his wife were warm, welcoming and accommodating, making us feel comfortable the whole time. They recommended good places to eat nearby, and patiently answered our queries about day trips (they must have been asked this so many times!). We also loved the wonderful lady at breakfast who had a great smile and who always remembered what type of coffee we want. Because of this, breakfast was such a lovely experience.

One highlight was when we came home a bit late one night and I was craving a cappuccino. The lovely gentleman at reception went out of his way to make us cappuccinos at the kitchen upstairs which we then enjoyed in our room. To this kind gentleman, thank you! We will never forget this gesture.

If you're lazy like us, you can order wine, water, and other drinks at the very cute bar downstairs -- all for a reasonable price. So convenient. We got a bottle of wine which we enjoyed with out picnic dinner.

If we find ourselves in Positano again, we will definitely stay again in this hotel. Highly recommended. Thank you Tony and family, for a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: Splurge on the Sea View Room. So worth the extra euros!
