“Beautiful spot, fantastic views and lovely hospitality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

Spent 8 nights in Mamma Rosa in the gorgeous Positano. The room had a lovely balcony with fantastic views over Positano town; the view really was stunning and very relaxing. The hospitality of Angelo and all at B & B Mamma Rosa was fantastic. We enjoyed a home cooked Italian meal one night with wine and dessert to complement. Angelo was extremely helpful with any questions we had about the area and gave us good advice about where to view the firework display from on the bank holiday celebrations (enjoyed from the room balcony with a glass of wine!!). Positano is lovely and Mamma Rosa is a lovely quiet hideaway when you want to get away from the hustle and bustle. Fantastic, relaxing and just what we needed.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent!

We were fortunate to arrange a booking at Mama Rosa's at such a late stage due to a cancellation. Location and facilities were just what we wanted, somewhere quiet and away from the bust tourist resort but yet convienent for walking distance. Just metres walk away where many opportunities to begin walks and runs and also the local plaza with shops and restaurants has to be experienced.

Angelo and his sister Mariana were perfect hosts and always on hand to answer any questions about local attractions and eateries. I have stayed in many hotels and B&B's over the years and for the price the hospitality and uniqueness of Mama Rosa's is up there with my favourite stay's. The facilities and breakfast spread were second to none and the fresh made criosants were immense, furthermore the view from the balcony of Positano was truly amazing.

I have a feeling that Angelo will be expanding his profile in Montepuertso and Positano as he is knowledgable of the surrounding area and he truly knows how to host a visitor to his hom e and community. Due to our experience we wanted to stay a further two nights and Angelo arranged for us to be accomodated at a new apartment recently opened by is cousin Adriana; we were the first customers and again the Montepuertso hospitality was provided. Ideal accomodation for families, young travellers or any type at that.

I will return to Montepuertso and Mama Rosa's

On the first night of our 5 night stay at Mamma Rosa's the little town was having a celebration of the Blessed Mother..the evening was filled with a parade through the street of people carrying
the Blessed Mother and music that carried on through the evening with fireworks later...all of which could be seen from our fantastic private balcony. It truly was an exciting experience. Angelo could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The B&B is spotless and they take care of every need. Each morning we were presented with a light breakfast which included a fresh croissant and capuchino. He had helped us with information on transportation, hiking and eating places. We were lucky enough to have a dinner that his family made for us. The whole experience was delicious. Of the three weeks my daughter, son-in-law, husband and I spent in Italy; Momma Rosa's was one of our favorite places. Yes, we had the 200 stairs, but in Italy there are stairs everywhere and one had to work off the delicious culinary delights. Monterpetuso is a beautiful little town set up in the mountain above Positano overlooking the sea and working its way to heaven. We would like to thank Angelo, Melania and their mom and hope to see them again. Mary R

My sister and two friends and I just returned from an extended European vacation. We ended our trip with two wonderful nights at Mamma Rosa's. Yes, there are over 200 steps to climb, but Angelo cheerfully helped with the luggage, and the climb was well worth it! The B&B is situated on a cliff which overlooks Montepertuso, a little village adjacent to Positano. To say that the views from the balconies of both bedrooms is stunning is an understatement! You can see the cliffs, the green hills, the village, and the beautiful sea below. The B&B itself is spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. Both bathrooms are large and updated. Angelo and his family clearly value personal touches and service. Mamma Rosa herself even did a cooking demonstration for us, with Angelo explaining and assisting. This was followed by a multi-course delicious home-cooked Italian meal, consisting of produce and wine produced on the family farm. Angelo arranged transportation for us to a local restaurant where we enjoyed another outstanding meal consisting of fresh seafood. He was a wealth of information and answered all of our questions about where to go and what to see. Local buses were inexpensive and easy to access in order to visit the gorgeous town of Positano. If you are ever in this area of the Amalfi coast, you should definitely spend a few days at Mamma Rosa. Excellent!

Once you get to Mamma Rosa's it is worth the trek up the steps. We actually liked the steps as it kind of made us think we were working off some of the fantastic food we were eating locally.

Mamma Rosas is set high up in monterpetuso but we preferred being away from all the tourist chaos of Positano and three of the best restaurants in the area le terrace , tagliata and il ritrovo are all within easy walking distance. We enjoyed tagliata and ritrovo more.

We also walked down to Positano each day (over 2000 steps) it takes about 30 minutes from
b&b but view is worth it and bus back at end of day.

It's a beautiful spot with a view to die for , with really pretty rooms and Angelo is a star. I would stay again.

My friends and I spent three weeks traveling throughout different parts of France,Spain and Italy.
Our two days in Positano were heaven! We hit a jackpot when we booked our stay at Mamma Rosa. We were warmly welcomed by Angelo, who carried our bags up the 200+ steps. The view was spectacular once we reached the top. We loved our room. We had a private balcony where we could sit ,relax and take wonderful pictures of both the hillsides and coast.
Angelo and his mother prepared us a wonderful ,delicious meal for our last night, the service was superb.
It was definitely one of our best times.

My Wife and I stayed here for two nights. We both wish it would have been much longer! Away from the hustle and bustle of tourists, nestled on the side of the coast with breath taking views you will not get staying anywhere else in Positano. Our room had a balcony plenty big for a table and two chairs that over looked a picturesque view of the coast line. A perfect setting. Angelo also gets a 10 out of 10. We were apart of his family for the days. We were provided with everything from beach towels to recommendations for dinner in Positano as well as an amazing sandwich place in Florence, our next stop, and everything in between. He cooked us dinner one night using all his own grown, organic vegetables and fruits and wine. HIS DINNER IS A MUST! Mamma Rosa's is A MUST if you are planning a trip along the Amalfi coast.
