The Rosa dei Venti is a nice bed and breakfast with an incredibly helpful and friendly owners. They recommended several restaurants and activities and were willing to share stories about their town and lives their. The wife and I stayed for our honeymoon, and although it rained most days, we had a great time relaxing in the room and enjoying the delicious breakfasts on the balcony. We stayed on a lower floor which has a power line cutting the view a bit, so i would recommend stying one floor above. The hotel is a steep walk from the beach but easily doable unless you have physical difficulties. Beds are a bit hard for U.S. standards but i think this is normal for Positano hotels. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

We loved this charming and quaint little B&B, but do be careful to slow down when coming into town, because it is located on the end of a pedestrian path and you cannot see the entrance from the street. If you miss it, and since all the traffic flows in one direction, you will have to spend several minutes going all the way around through the town and back again. Parking is tricky and a bit on the pricy side, again this just isn't a town made for travel by car. The hotel La Rosa is a gem and it is decorated in a sweet and charming fashion just like all the buildings in town -- floral motifs on white tile. Breakfast came to our room on a tray with the requisite cereal, croissants, yogurt, and coffee any way you like it. Extras like fresh fruit were reasonably priced. The sea view from the patio was magnificent. Neighbors are a little too close for my comfort when everyone is on their patios at the same time, I don't care to hear others' conversations. Proprietors were gracious and friendly. Free internet in the lobby and we were able to print our boarding passes. Dining recommendation: Bruno's Bar was delish. Descending the 400+ steps down to the beach and then ascending them on the way back will get your heart pumping. Do like the locals and ride a scooter to see the coast.

This is more like a hotel than a bed and breakfast. We stayed in Libeccio and it was excellent. Very clean, a fabulous terrace with a stunning view of the sea and the cliffs. The location was VERY easy to get to with luggage, as other people we met had a lot of difficulty gettting their luggage to hotels closer to the beach. The staff was very nice, we will absolutely recommend this place and will stay there again. There are great restaurants nearby with Il Fornillo being our favorite.

“Splendid view”

La Rosa Dei Venti

Stayed at La Rosa dei Venti for 1 night in November. The room (Grecale) was spacious and clean with a very nice terrace overlooking the golf. The view was stunning and since Positano is exposed South we could enjoy the view of the sun on the sea in the morning during the breakfast served on our private terrace and in the afternoon as well. The manager was very helpful and corteus. The only thing that I think would have been useful to know in advance is that the paying Parking area for which they have a discounted daily price (18 euros) is just 50 meters before the hotel on a one-way road so if you get with your car to the hotel you have just missed the garage and you have to pass through the town and back around (4km) to go to the parking area. Or if you are lucky go and ask the garage people to come and get the car themselves. Finally be prepared to do a bit of stairs with your luggage - as the entrance of the hotel is off the main road.
The hotel is a 15 mins away walking from the center by the beach of Positano but has access (at least I saw the signs) to a nearby beach (still some few steps away) and it is close to the restarant Fornillo which I think it is way better than the more famous Chez Black downtown.

    • Disliked — Having to carry the luggage to and from the main road through stairs and little roads.

Positano was out first stop on our two week vacation in Italy. We stayed in the Grecale room for three nights and loved everything about it. Room was spacious, large bathroom, terrace with fantastic view of the water, quiet, etc. Breakfast every morning on the terrace was a highlight. This B&B is in the quieter side of Positano which we liked and it gave us plenty of opportunity to walk down to the main beach and shopping area. Especially nice afrer dinner when you need to walk off a 5 course meal. The staff was courteous and Mario speaks english well enough to communicate with the guests. All this and we paid 120 Euros a night which is significantly less than many of the other places we looked at in Positano. I highly recommend La Rosa dei Venti
