“You are missing out if you don't come here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

We made reservations based on tripadvisor, and received a free shuttle from the dinner location to our hotel which brought us up the hill to our lovely meal. We received a great table with view, in which we had 2 or 3 attentive waiters who through our entire meal took care of us, and even showed my lovely other half how to peel their shrimp properly and eat. :)

We had their Veggie Pizza, Clams and spaghetti, Fried Mixed Fish, Grilled Veggies as our first and second entrees. The pizza was absolutely amazing. I assure anyone that if you get pizza here you will leave extremely happy. All the other dishes as well were yummy and satisfying.

By the end of our meal, we were so happy with the service, the owners, and the food that we decided on cappuccino's and their Tiramisu. I'm not a fan of Tiramisu, but if there's one you should get in your lifetime its HERE. It was light and airy, absolutely perfect ending to a wonderful dinner.

I would recommend this to ANYONE visiting POSITANO. This is where truly good food is, and at wonderful prices. We will probably be back again tomorrow, after our experience the other day. We've eaten at D'Vincento and Da Gabrisa and those both are completely lackluster to this restaurant here. :)

“Can't go wrong”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

After two nights of mediocre (not bad, but not great) dinners in the more touristy areas of Positano, I asked for and received a recommendation from the owners of the hotels in which we were staying; in no way did it disappoint. After hearing that the prices were more reasonable (although that wasn't our number one concern, knowing that, as it was, Positano in July was going to be more touristy) and that several of the owners had gone there themselves the previous night (obviously not for the first time), I knew that we should at least give it a try.

A friend and I went and got an antipasto (the caprese "salad") - hands down the best caprese I've ever had (all in the freshness of the mozzarella), a pizza diavola for myself (as a self-proclaimed pizza afficionado, this was by far one of the top five pizzas I've ever had, the others pretty much all being from Napoli proper), and the scialatielli allo scoglio for my friend (the scialatelli is a pasta made in-house and is typical of the Amalfi region, allo scoglio means a variety of seafood - clams, mussels, shrimp), and a liter of the house wine (best 11Euro I've ever spent for a house wine). We both agreed that it had been not only the best meals we had on this particular trip, but one of the best meals we've had in Italy, period. We even indulged in dessert, getting tartufo al cioccolato (a chocolate ice cream coated in truffles) and a tiramisu'. All incredible, and even with a 1Euro cover each (well worth it for the quality of the bread), we paid only 41Euro between us.

As for service, the owner/servers were super friendly, and always made sure everything was alright (without pressuring us to get in and get out, like waiters do in the US). They even offered to drive us back to our hotel, which we declined since it wasn't even half a mile away; but, the offer was definitely appreciated. We were able to enjoy the beautiful night sitting outside, which while it didn't offer us the traditional "scenic" view of Positano, still allowed us to enjoy our meal with a view of the far mountain and the water, and the sea breeze that inevitably accompanies the atmosphere.

If you're in Positano and want a delicious Mediterranean (well, Tyrrhenian, really) sea culinary experience, you really can't go wrong going to this restaurant - we will surely be back there a few more times before our stay is over.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013 via mobile

If you don't mind forgoing the posing and posturing for one night and simply want the best food at the best price then this place is MUST GO - before choosing from the menu listen to what the specials are , they are called SPECIALS for a reason si listen to the man and be guided by him , you won't be disappointed - when you get the bill it will be the icing on the cassata ! Free pick up and drop off too , what more di you want ? If you prefer to be seen , eat mediocre fare and be ripped off than this is not the place for you.

“Eat with the locals”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

My husband and I really enjoyed our meal at Cera una Volta! For about 40 euro we had antipasto, 2 pasta dishes, 2 L of wine, dessert, and 6 limoncello (we bought it for the table beside us too). We also saw a lot of locals picking up food. I think a pizza pickup was 5 euro. You really cannot beat the prices, and the food was really really good! We also took advantage of the free shuttle pick up service from our hotel. If you are looking for good food at an awesome price then this is the place to go!!
