“A surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

What a delight to find C’era una volta. It was a cold, rainy day in Positano and lunch at a beachside restaurant did not seem like a good idea. So we wandered off and asked a lady standing outside her store, if she knew of anywhere close by where we might eat. She responded that a friend had a restaurant and would send a car for us. Before we knew it we were being whisked to C’era una Volta by car. Our host greeted us warmly and we accepted his recommendation of lobster and pasta for lunch. Delicious and not costly. What a surprise, and what a special memory to have of Positano.

“Authentic Family Italian Trattoria.A little gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

Wonderful experience. After spending days of frequenting tourist traps , it was a joy to find an authentic Italian restaurant. We were delighted by the service and the superb home cooked meal. A family operation, we were made to feel immediately welcomed by Frederico, and met the chef Teresa. Frederico the waiter, made excellent recommendations and offered to arrange for special dishes, a lovely personal touch. We were treated to a feast of fresh seafood and pasta, we were recommend the ricotta gnocchi with cherry tomato and clams and the ravioli and veal ragout. Prices were extremely reasonable and owner even offered us a lift back to our hotel but we had our own car. Lots of local Italians eating here which was testament to the quality of the food and service. Just disappointed we discovered it on our last night in Positano, as we would have returned here on multiple occasions. We would certainly recommend this restaurant to others who are looking for the quality food. I did read a couple of the negative reviews but I found my experience quite the opposite.

“Great food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

Our server was excellent in providing wine choices and even brought out an extra appetizer from the antipast plate for my wife since it was so good I did not share much of it. It is not an upscale place as there are tvs playing.it is more of a casual setting but the food and service was superb even with it being full on our visit. They have a car service as well to pick you up from your hotel and return you after dinner.

“BEING CHEATED”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

Being cheated.
According to the menu we did our choices. The waiter suggested something in addition that sounded convincing. When we asked for the bill we realized that the price of one of the dishes was much more higher than any one other in the list menu. Suprisingly the waiter said that was not in the list because was something especial. In addition they charged in the bill mineral water when it was just tap water.

Dear antonietaso I am very sad for your opinion about my restaurant ,but if you think the water is only tap water you are wrong because we have a sanitizer-purify-controlled water system ,inside the restaurant,You complain that you spent 18 € for a beef tagliata with rucola ,shaved parmesan cheese and cherry tomatoes, as traveller you suppose to know that the price of a tagliata is not less than 25 € .But anyway ,any time you want to came over you'll be welcome.
