“Perfect location and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

Villa Franca is beautifully situated and the shuttle service is a great advantage, though I do agree its a bit inconvenient the way it stops through part of the day. The staff are very helpful especially the cleaning staff and breakfast and bar staff. All are friendly approachable and cant do enough for you. This is a great spot for families or couples. Will definitely stay again if in Positano.

fabulous location, fantastic food in the dining room, helpful restaurant staff, room and view were delightful. Front desk staff were helpful, internet was included without any hassle. Some of our fellow travellers were a bit irritating, ie scrappy shorts, tee shirts, and generally a rumpled look, loud & boisterous, with a general disregard for the quiet enjoyment of other guests of the hotel. Oh well, there are rude travellers everywhere. do you recognize yourself? Cheers.

This hotel is absolutely stunning. Every detail from the flooring to the furniture was well done. (I kind of want to have their decorators come do my house ;) The pool, rooftop, and restaurant were especially beautiful. We also really enjoyed eating dinner at the hotel restaurant!

The one thing I think this hotel could really improve on would be the shuttle service. It's difficult for some to walk around on those steep windy roads and a more regular shuttle would help. I thought it was odd that the hotel only operated the shuttle at certain times of the day too. Why not offer it 24/7? Or at least from 8am-2am, without the giant gaps in between? I also heard other hotel guests commenting on their disappointment with the shuttle situation so I know I'm not alone here.

Still, this was a wonderful hotel to stay in and I'd recommend it to anyone traveling to Positano!

A lovely setting at the very top of Positano, with marvelous views of the town and the gulf. Comfortable but dated décor and a lot of creaky doors (even the toilet lid creaked when raised and lowered--we called it the haunted hotel). Some strange wires sticking out of the wall above the balcony door where it looks like a light fixture should have been. Staff and/or in-room information could have been more helpful--didn't tell us where and when breakfast was, how the jacuzzi works, or that the annoying wifi passwords would only last for a certain numbers of hours and then you had to get another one. The wifi only worked in part of the room and cut out, sometimes coming back later, sometimes because you had to get another piece of paper with a new i.d. and password. There were plenty of hangars that were not attached to the rod so that clothing could be hung in the bathroom to steam while showering or on the balcony to dry, and the shower and hairdryer were really good. There was plenty of space to leave things on the bathroom sink, lighting was a little weak. Frette linens and high ceilings

Our room was absolutely spectacular!! The view was the nicest one we have ever had in our many years of travel. The staff was beyond accommodating. Anything we need they supplied with a smile. The restaurant was wonderful with gourmet selections and a extensive wine list. The service was superb!! We will definitely tell our friend about this one.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the town have both sea and town views.

You've seen all the photos of the iconic village that is Positano, you've watched Diana Lane leave Tuscany in Under The Tuscan Sun and make her way down South for some serious fun, skidding around those corners with those stunning views above the Med; and this hotel overlooks it all. I've been staying here since 2000. If Andrew is still the bartender, you're in for quite a treat. As the saying goes, Italians work up North and live down South...and why not take a cooking course for a day; it's well worth it.

The environs are like no other, blue water, white rock and green scenery like nothing you've ever seen. The Amalfi Coast is gorgeous and Villa Franca is the place to stay; the rooms are colorfully tiled with balconies with the most pristine scenery as far as the eye can see.

The restaurant's absolutely fantastic but you're not far from the beach where dozens of joints place you right alongside the sea...I've stayed alone, and with my husband and with my mother; there's a reason I keep coming back. My friends have all enjoyed it immensely; it truly is like no other hotel....

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony; it's worth the rate.

I can't speak highly enough of this hotel. We were staying with a large group and they made us so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. It's well decorated, well run, and well positioned high up in Positano. The views from the hotel are breath taking. I would happily stay here again and again. Loved it.
