“Pink Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2009

Traveled to the Amalfi Coast for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and stayed in Positano and Sorrento. The Miramare was a terrific hotel and all the reviews that we had read on TripAdvisor prior to our visit were dead on accurate. We actually booked our stay through an online travel agency(ItalySource.com- great people) that we had used previously on a family vacation to Rome, Florence and Venice and they had only 2 hotels that they recommended and one was the Hotel Miramare.
We stayed in Room 210(ask for it) with a very generous balcony and full height glass window view from the bathroom of the bay below. Very Cool! The staff as you have read were dynamite and so professional. Nicola and Rosita made you feel so welcome as if you were staying with family. One morning we had breakfast brought to our room and only requested a couple of omelettes but they brought an wide assortment of just about everything!
The steps down to the beach and up to the street are challenging but were well worth the effort for us. In Sorrento we stayed at the 5 Star Hotel Grand Excelsior(which was quite elegant) but both of us preferred the quaintness and personal service that we received at The Miramare to the Grand Excelsior. Positano is sooo charming and The Miramare is a Perfect Pink Paradise!
Enjoy- you will love this hotel and the professionalism ahnd warmth exhibited by their staff!

We spent five days in Positano and thoroughly enjoyed the town, its lovely restaurants, the food, wine, touring to Pompeii, Ravello and Amalfi, and above all the friendly people. The service provided at the Hotel Miramare was exceptional. Rosita is a marvel and she made us feel incredibly welcome. Our five days in Positano have provided us with memories that will last a lifetime, and Rosita, well, we will never forget her. We are already planning to return as soon as possible.

The staff at the Miramare is fantastic. Rosita and Nick were truly accomodating. They provided us with everything from parking to umbrellas and bag storage. The location is ideal and the terrace is amazing. We enjoyed breakfast on the terrace (included in the room price) every morning and had a spectacular view. Rosita was the nicest person we met on our entire trip. We miss her dearly!

This is a nice hotel although like everything in Italy (especially coming from Asia) pretty overpriced. We paid Euro 210 per night for a room in a building a few minutes away from the main hotel which was fine with us. The room was quite nice although it could do with a freshen up or some new furniture (it felt rather bare). The outstanding feature was the view of Positano and the coast from the balcony (which you also see through a small window when you shower) which is amazing. The hotel had their own private parking (which i think we paid extra for and was quite pricey as to be expected in Positano with the lack of land) and someone came from the hotel to carry our bags down the very steep steps to get to the hotel......but be warned I gave this guy a Euro 5 tip when we checked in and when we left I gave him another Euro 5 tip to which he demanded I pay him Euro 10 (i felt this was highly unprofessional for such an expensive hotel). The breakfast was quite nice with a good choice and some nice cappuchino (as much as we wanted). The wifi only worked in the main building, was a bit on and off and was quite expensive. The lady who worked at the front desk was really lovely and helped us with some pretty decent restaurant reccomendations. The restaurant in central Positano that is linked to the hotel was excellent. The only dissapointment (and it was a pretty major one) was that the hotel offers a complimentary ride in their boat along the Amalfi coast. We were really looking forward to this, but on the morning we were due to go we were told the sea was too rough so they cancelled it. I found this quite bizarre because it was blue sky, no wind, and the sea seemed quite calm. Positano itself is very nice and fairly quiet when we were there, but the beach was very rocky and in June the sea was pretty chilly. We stayed 2 nights and that was good enough for us, not sure if I would return just because of the price and Positano being quite small. We went on a day trip to Revello along the coast and would have loved to stay there for a night.

My girlfriend and I stayed in the Miramare in June and we had a wonderful stay. We were in room 203 and we had a generous room with a lovely balcony. The staff are excellent and we felt very welcome from the moment we arrived until the time we left. The recommendations from the staff on trips and eating were perfect. All in all it was great despite the 211 steps to and from the beach. Would have given 5 stars but for lack of free internet and the lack of availability of food outside of a lovely breakfast. J&E

Positano was our last destination on our honeymoon in Italy and it was well worth the wait. After a long trip from Naples, arriving at the Miramare was amazing, Rosita could not have been more welcoming and the service was great for the whole of our stay. The restaurants she recommended were the best we ate in and she was a mine of information on trips, transport and anything you needed to know. The hotel was clean, rooms were tidied and cleaned twice a day and the balcony and view were just stunning, overlooking the bay. We couldn't fault anything and would love to go back another year - it was very hard to leave!

We staid 12 days in this lovely hotel. We enjoyed every day of it, becoming more and more part of the Miramare-family.
We love Miramare, not only for its amazing views, the large terrace (room # 215 !!) overlooking the sea and the town, the lovely room, the nice buffet, but above all because of the friendly and helpful staff.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the Amalfi-coast. Just be aware of the steps from and to the hotel. We considered it as a daily workout.
By the way: we prefer Positano far above Sorrento and Amalfi.
