This five star hotel has the best location in Positano for anyone traveling on their honeymoon! It was quite a bit of money to part with for two nights, but worth every penny!!

The regular rooms are not all that amazing but you get a huge bathroom and a great terrace with an amazing view of the sea and Positano. You can order desserts from room service and have them delivered to your terrace for a romantic evening!

The breakfast is really big, but you have to leave exactly at 9 to get one of the best seats at the beautiful rooftop pool!

The restaurant is really spectacular and as a guest, you get a 15% discount. Had the best swordfish of my life there!

Just returned from a trip on which we spent 3 nights in Positano at Covo. Generally, it was a great location and very nice hotel. Pool is wonderful! A few things to keep in mind however: 1) You can not drive to this hotel. You must park your car in one of the many lots on the main road (we used Parcheggio Gennaro for 20 euros per day) and then walk the pedestrian only street 10 minutes down to the waterfront to the hotel. Luggage must be transported by a porter service (4 euros per bag plus tip) unless you want to haul it yourself down the steep walkways, including plenty of steps). 2) I don't know if this was typical but each evening and night during our stay, the entire beachfront area (inluding the hotel and our room) was overcome by a foul, sewer-like odor (we heard it was because raw sewage is dumped into the bay!). It was a very nasty smell and permeated right into our first floor room each night. 3)Apparently, room size and quality differs alot from room to room at Covo. All of the least expensive rooms are on the 1st and 2nd floors...make sure you know what you are getting and that you are not at the end of the corridor as those rooms face the street more than they do the sea. Since staying at Covo is expensive no matter what, consider staying in one of the higher floors' jr suites to get bigger space with larger balconies.

we stayed at covo for 3 nights in july. we wanted to stay at le sirenuse but it was booked so we were worried about covo. well it turned out to be amazing and i would go back again!
the location is just the best - right above the marina. close to a good shopping street.
our room had a great balcony overlooking the water.
the room was 'casual beach chic' - all white, drapes around the bed...plain but clean. the bathroom was huge and a little dated - but also very clean. the pool is breathtaking.
the front desk was really helpful with a problem we had with a transfer to capri and a rental car snafu. they took care of it with patience and ease!
i thought it might be noisy at night with sounds of all the jet boats and hyrdafoils but the windows could be shuttered and it was really quiet.
the restaurant was also really good as was pizza by the pool.

Great location, great views, great staff, great rooms!
We were there for 4 nights on a honey moon trip.
The staff made our stay so special. We just could not thank them enough!
Our room was a slice of paradise that we will never forget.
Can't wait to go back!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel May 19 - May 22, 2006. Overall I thought the hotel was a little pricey (the most expensive hotel we stayed at in a 2 1/2 week trip through Italy) but overall had very favorable experiences. The breakfast was very good with a large selection of pasteries, fruit and even excellent scrambled eggs served in a large breakfast room overlooking the ocean. Our room (superior double) was small and sparsely decorated but had a wonderful balcony with an incredible view of Positano in the hills and the ocean. Wonderful to watch the lights come on from the city at night and to wake up early and see the early morning light on the men preparing their boats and over this picturesque town. Our bed was comfortable and bathroom large with nice fluffy robes. Giancarlo at the front desk was more than accomodating in helping us to arrange our transportation to Capri, figuring bus and train schedules to go to Pompei and a driver to the Naples train station. We ate at the hotel restaurant our first night because we were exhausted from our travels and did not want to have to walk back too far after eating. The food was excellent, better than I had hoped for and they readily gave us our 15% discount for being guests in the hotel. Everything was within easy walking distance from this hotel and the streets of Positano, though steep as reported, are really not so steep to not be inviting for strolling. I hope to definately return to Positano and would stay at this hotel again. Really the only negative comment I can make is that it was a little pricey but you did receive good value for the money you spent.
