Owner description: Positano Boats is an hire boats and luxury charter company of the young entrepreneurs from Positano, born from the passion for the sea and a big admiration for the Amalfi Coast. The desire to do much to do and especially the desire to let everyone know the beauty of the Divine Coast, the nostalgia of the amalfitan Dolce vita and the Italian style make this young company truly unique. Kindness, courtesy, customer care and knowledge of the sea are the must.

“The highlight of our holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

A boat trip is certainly a great way to get wonderful views of the stunning Amalfi Coast. We took the boat from just outside Positano and our trip took us all the way around Capri, with ample photo opportunities and a chance for a swim on the way. We had the option of queuing for an hour to get into the Blue Grotto too but fortunately the consensus view was that we extend our time on Capri itself. We had around 4 hours in which to explore the island and we headed up to the Villa Lysis and then the climb up to Villa Jova, Tiberius' residence when on Capri. Both were in stunning locations and well worth visiting. The way back to Positano gave us another opportunity to cool off by taking a dip, which was followed by a free glass of bubbly. All in all the trip was the highlight of our holiday and well worth the 60 euros we paid.
Giovanni was an excellent captain. He piloted the boat with considerable skill and was helpful, knowledgeable and friendly through the trip.
The only dark point of the day was a difficulty encountered when trying to find where to park the car beforehand. We had been directed to a parking area marked with three flag banners but on parking were subjected to a torrent of abuse from a couple of locals who vehemently objected to us parking there. We tried to explain (largely in mime as we didn't speak Italian and they didn't speak English) that we were going on a boat trip but they still threatened to phone the police. The intervention of an English-speaking local and a lot of help from a really helpful lady in the Positano Boats office helped but we still wondered whether the car would be towed away by the time we came back. In spite of this minor setback without a doubt we would thoroughly recommend this full day boat trip to Capri. Great value for money. The skill, knowledge and attentiveness of the skipper was exemplary. The boat was clean, comfortable and appeared to be very well maintained. I must also mention the most helpful English speaking young lady who took our booking and helped us sort out the problem with parking. In all honesty I have to give Positano Boats 10 out of 10 for a truly memorable trip of a lifetime. Thank you again to all those involved.

“Drive the boat yourself”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013 via mobile

We took a boat without a skipper for a morning and it was great. So private and so easy, they show you exactly what to do and park the boat for you. The best way to see the coast from the water. Brilliant.

“Italy highlight!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

Just finishing a memorable trip!! Many cities, many highlights. But right at the top is our boat trip from Positano to Capri! Great day at sea, great boat (La Lucia), great points of interest and most importantly a great young captain (Giovanni). His joy for the sea and his excitement showing you his world is infectious. We highly recommend this trip for either a single couple or for as many as three, possibly four couples!!!!! Giovanni is the best!!!!

“Boating Day with Barbarapositano a fantastic experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

This was our third trip to Amalfi coast. We've chartered boats for the trip to Capri each time and agree with other reviews that this is the best way to enjoy this area. This last charter with the Barbarapositano was fantastic and they provided a relaxing day which was highlight of our trip. The boat is 33 feet with large padded sundeck on bow and wrap around padded sitting area aft. There's a cabin so you can change clothes; snacks and beverages included. But, the best is that Barbara and captain Antonio made us feel as if friends had invited us to spend a boating day with them. There were only two of us but this craft would handle 4 to 6 couples easily. I have many years of boating experience and this craft and crew are spectacular. While there are standard trips, you can modify it to whatever you want. Snorkeling, swimming, time on Capri or no Capri and lunch at sea side cafe are all possible. So, if you want a great boating day on Amalfi coast check out Barbarapositano. I'm sure their on web.
