“Good room, Great View...but a bit of a trek up the hill”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

Staff were polite and helpful, room was clean and comfortable, sky tv, Great view and a decent breakfast (although crowded breakfast area with food kind of haphazardly scattered around and too many chairs and tables) One thing to note is that we took the bus from amalfi to here, which drops you at the other end of town, we saw that we were in Via Pasitea so trekked with our suitcases to find the hotel, a mistake with heavy luggage because its a trek up to the top of the hill.... not a problem when you go for an evening stroll, or down to the beach- but not with luggage..... overall very good though.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience of the bus. Unfortunately, the drivers of the Sita does not always give correct information about the hotels. The right stop to the Hotel Pasitea is the stop called "Chiesa Nuova"

Lovely hotel, close to many things in Positano; easy to get to if you have your walking shoes on. I liked my room and I liked that it was clean. The value was good considering its part of a US chain, best Western. If you need a place where everything works and the staff shows you Italian hospitality this is a great place with a wonderful view of the village of Positano.

Room Tip: bring good walking shoes for Positano- the whole place is very hilly

Thank you for the wonderful review. Positano is a very expensive city, we are pleased to be the best value for money. I remind you that from November 2012 we are no longer a Best Western Hotel, but we are a Positano Art Hotel

Stayed here for one night during our trip to Italy, although we wanted to stay longer we enjoyed it that much. The hotel is in a perfect location and is very ornately decorated. Our room was right at the top and the view was spectacular. The room itself was bright, airy and clean. The shower was a tad small but didn't bother us too much. The breakfast was fine and adequate. Would definitely stay here again. Great quirky hotel! Top tip: if you are looking for a restaurant for dinner, the hotel recommended we try out La Tagliata, aka Mama's kitchen!! The hotel will also organise the free transport to and from the restaurant, which is just up the mountain. It is definitely a restaurant you have to experience!!

I am travelling 3 weeks in Italy from north to south. My friend and i use Positano as base to explore Amalfi coast, we stayed this hotel for 3 nights. Staff is so friendly (Antonio and Tony) recommended us for good restaurants and transportation how to reach places. Room is so comfortable and big balcony with seaview. SITA bus stop is walking distance and positano local bus stop is next door.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

We just came back from a week at the Hotel Pasitea. Our room (family room for 4) was spacious with a separate area for the kids' beds. We were slightly disappointed that the balcony was so tiny for a room for 4 people - only had space for 2 chairs and a semi-circular table - but the view was so amazing that after the initial disappointment this was no big deal. We had quite a lot of rain while we were there so if we had paid more for a larger terrace we would not have been able to use it much.
Location - 10 minutes walk (via steps) to the beach. Lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance if you go the road way down into the centre rather than the steps.
Bathroom - Spacious with good shower. Plenty of hot water and good pressure, and a quirky porthole window behind a round mirror.
Beds - Large king size bed, with what looked like a new mattress. Nice and firm without being too hard.
Breakfast - Good range of pastries, croissants, fabulous cakes and bread, fresh fruit, yogurt, ham, cheese and some cooked food (sausage, egg and thin sliced ham) although you had to catch this at the right time, as it was replenished raw and then cooked gradually at the buffet.
Staff - Friendly and very helpful, and spoke good English. Knew bus timetable off by heart!
Bruschetta - We had this on a couple of evenings in the bar. Good quality but quite large so you could get away with one between 2 if you have smaller appetites. Bruschetta + drink was 10e.
Travel - Forget hiring a car - vast majority we saw were all scraped due to narrow windy roads - use the buses instead. Published timetables should be treated as a rough guide only! Regular buses between Sorrento and Amalfi stop at Positano. 24h ticket = 7e 60, so good value.

Room Tip: All have sea views. Higher floors will have best views.

Just left after 4 days at the hotel. Location was very good, staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms large with very big terrace for each room. Overlooking the sea, up on hill. A very good value overall. If you go, say hi to Antonio, one of the most accommodating and earnest front desk guys we've ever met. He was truly outstanding in making sure our stay was all good.
