“Paradise on Earth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

We stayed at La Agavi for 3 nights in July. This is the most spectacular hotel and view ever.
The room was magnificent with a huge balcony with table chairs and recliners overlooking the bay and village of Positano.
The breakfast were brilliant with a view even better. The hotel has a cable car to get from floor to floor and this adds to the fascination.
The staff were fantastic and the swimming pool is magnificent. There is a regular hotel shuttle to the town and back.
At the entrance is a fruit stand run by Vito and his Dad Luigi, make sure you meet them and they will ensure that you get the best fresh fruit, bread, oil, balsamic and whatever you need. BRILLIANT
The restaurant at the private beach is awesome, best fish soup ever!!
Would swim back from Australia to this magnificent place

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor and it was beyond brilliant

We have stayed in Positano before but this was the first time at Le Agarve. We will be back! The best way to sum up this hotel is that it is a very well run hotel which gives the impression of a relaxed atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The staff at the pool can't do enough for you, the staff at the beach are the same. The restaurant is understated and well worth a visit for dinner. Worthy of special note is the Bar Manager Antonio di Simone the image of his friendly face will remind us of our happy holiday.

Room Tip: I think that they all have sea views.

The property is out of the city. You'll need a shuttle to the city center. Daily rate of 530,00 Euros(= U$ 720,00) is ridiculous for this hotel and you'll have to pay 5.00 euros/hour for the internet ( not high speed). The beds are terrible. Avoid the restaurant ( prices too high ). The breakfast is poor for a hotel of 530.00 euros. There is no safe box in the room. Prepare your legs.. A lot os stairs..

Room Tip: Try to stay in the main building

To ftieppo.
We don’t share your reviews, as our prices, services and features are well specified and clear on all sales channels of the hotel. Breakfast is made of more than 40 courses and it is not a brunch for sure. There are five elevators to reach the lobby, the rooms and the private beach and just a few steps. Restaurants’ prices are in proportion to the quality of products, which are very fresh and first-rate; prices are not so much higher than other restaurants of the area. Mattresses are orthopedic and first-rate, to guarantee a good posture while sleeping. Shuttle bus is at guests’ disposal and complimentary with frequent runs, and it covers a route of 1 km to Positano, not such a long distance as you are stating. Safety boxes are not in the rooms, in order to ensure more control on the guests’ items.
No company is perfect, but we believe your presence in hotels has to be avoided, as your reviews do not correspond with anything and you do not give any suggestions to improve the hotel and its services. The biggest own goal are the comments against features and position of the hotel that you preferred and chose upon reservation.

We just completed our stay in Positano. The rooms at Le Agavi are not luxiourious, but they are spacious and very clean. The view from our balcony was amazing, as was the view at breakfast. The trip to the beach is an adventure, but that is part of the experience. It was very quiet and enjoyable. We were traveling with 2 teenagers. They had their own room next to ours and it worked out great for our family. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others!

Positano was the first of four cities to visit in Italy for our recent Honeymoon. Beautiful location. The hotel's main entrance is at the top and the rest of the property is built below along the mountainside with access to their private beach. Getting to the beach is an experience with the tram that leads you halfway down and then an elevator built inside the mountain! The rooms are a bit dated but charming and clean. The overall decor of the place is an old world style. As you walk through the property along winding walkways, you can stop and look over to see the lower levels and the beautiful coast. It's breathtaking at every angle. We stayed for 5 nights and had two different rooms after we upgraded. Nothing was wrong with our first room, except our patio was a bit small. Our upgraded room had a much larger bathroom, patio, and closet/dressing room. The beds did seem quite firm but I happen to like it that way so no complaints about that. The breakfast buffet was nice. Who could resist eating breakfast every morning outdoors overlooking the entire side of the mountain and rest of Positano?? We had dinner at the restaurant one night. It was a little more pricy than in town, but the food was great and service excellent - and again sitting on the restaurant's balcony with nighttime views. Overall, ALL of the staff we interacted with were excellent. We spoke often with two people at the front desk. One was a young girl with dark curly hair (cannot remember her name) and the other was a man named Emidio. Both of them were very helpful and friendly. The hotel provided hourly shuttle service into town making it very convenient to get there and back. Out of the four hotels we stayed at across our trip through Italy, Le Agavi was the best. We look forward to coming back!

This hotel has a major advantage in Positano of having it's own beach accessible via a funicular down the cliffside. We found this a great place to relax. the rooms are a bit old fashioned and have hard beds. However, each has a balcony with terrific views over Positano. We did not eat in at all as there are many restaurants in positano to try out with a free shuttle to and from the hotel. The service was excellent and the staff more than made up for the slightly dated decor. Overall we found it an excellent hotel for a beach holiday.

We had a great room on the east side of hotel with a view overlooking Positano and the Bay. The deck outside was the best part. Only complaint was the rock hard bed. The included breakfast was excellent along with service. Be sure to take the "tram" down to beach - quite an experience. Also, walk 50m to the North to walk down the many many steps into town. Would recommend this highly.
