From the time we arrived at La Stanze we felt relaxed. I am a hotelier and am constantly checking out all of the things that other hotels do, the level of their service, the food, the finishings etc. I have to say that this is one of the few places where I could really relax because of the way that Florence and her staff took care of us and because the surroundings were so wonderful. You feel like you are staying with her in her house as her guest. Nothing is too much trouble and it's super relaxed.

Our room was very comfortable and perfect for our needs; we were travelling with our 3 year old son. He really enjoyed all of Florence's toys that date back to the 70's!! He also made friends with Florence, Lat and the dog and had to give them all a big kiss when we left... (not the dog!).

We had rented a car which was perfect because we could head out and explore the island. Florence had an armory of reccomendations and manage to suggest the best places for our needs (I am on crutches and with a 3 year old) and it always worked out excellently.

All is all this is a great place to relax and is centrally located in Elba so you can easily get out to the various parts of the island.

The island was beautiful and we really enjoyed our time there. The food was generally very good (if you like fish... Which we love!). The mix of the Tuscan life style and island-life was great.

We were impressed by the beautiful and neatly decorated house and its rooms. Florence and her team took absolutly care of providing their guests a wondeful atmosphere including well maintained rooms and a breakfast with freshly baked cakes or cookies every day.
For us, it was simply perfect! Thanks again.

Our family of three spent a week at this B&B and without hesitation would say it is one of the very best places we have ever stayed and we have stayed at the best hotels around the world. What makes it one of the best is the owner Florence. She welcomes you into her beautiful house and makes sure every need is met above any expectation. She chose fantastic beaches for us each day, away from the crowds and the most awe inspiring for beauty. She sent us on excursions to places we never knew existed from the Island of Pianosa to the sunken ship for snorkeling, to name just a couple. When it came to dinners, she made reservations at restaurants that aren't even reviewed on tripadvisor and only the locals know are the best and kept secret to those in the know. To top it all off, the house and room was magnificent with one of the best breakfast buffets. Every item is fresh. There is an abundance of fruits, home made baked goods, abundance of cheeses, & meats, a true cornucopia. Florence and her staff are truelly special individuals that desire to make your stay on the island of Elba very special. I have never written a review on this site, though have used for many years. This B&B pushed me over the edge to finally write a review. To meet such an individual in life like Florence, is truely a gift. Thank you Florence and your staff. Keep up the amazing work!

My wife and I loved the architecture and interior decoration of the hotel. The gardens encourage guests to stay outside and enjoy the evenings after a day of touring the island.
Staff is very friendly and provide excellent service. Florence, the manager, gave us excellent tips on places to visit and where to eat.
Highly recommended.
