I stayed at the hotel Balocco in August with my husband. We found the staff very helpful as we had some issues with our flights both on arrival & departure and due to poor Internet signal in the hotel we were unable to reschedule online, the staff were very accommodating and allowed us use of their hotel connection and helped us with making new bookings.
Overall I found the hotel to resemble more a 3 star rating. Our room was a good size and had a nice view but the decor was dated & the furnture tired. Breakfast was ok. Pool was nice but again none of this resembled a 4 star rating
Porto cervo has beautiful beaches with almost no developement which is great, the water is beautiful and I really enjoyed swimming however you definitely need a car to get about and then you need to pay for parking at each beach & then pay for sun loungers, the prices are high, in general everything is crazily overpriced!
Porto Cervo has no nightlife and few restaurants(some really lovely ones but pricey), the marina is pretty to walk around & view the numerous millionaire yachts. In general it's a millionaire's hangout.
I would not recommend Porto Cervo for a holiday unless you are a milionaire on your own boat!!
The only way i would return to this area would be to hire a villa with a group of friends.
