We happened to be in Porto Azzurro at dinner time, saw the TripAdvisor decal and ate there. We were the first patrons of the evening, so service was just fine. I had the Anchovies appetizer and my wife the Black Tortellini. Both were excellent, although mine consisted of 8 small fish and a small amount of delicious garnishments. For the main course I had the poppy seeds encrusted tuna steaks (2). They were delicious, cooked exactly to order and a bit too much too finish - but I really tried. My wife had the Polpo, which we both liked. With two glasses of wine (decent, but not great) and two bottles of sparkling water, our bill came to 74 Euro - a bit much, but the quality was excellent.
I was surprised to see so many bad reviews for this restaurant. I suspect that several reviewers were unfamiliar with the cost of this quality of ingredients and preparation. This is not haute cuisine, but also not ordinary restaurant food.
I am also surprised at the number of complaints about service. We were there at an especially low-stress time but found all the staff friendly and helpful.
