This hotel at it's birth must have been divine if it was under different management. Today this hotel is in severe decline physically and in service and comfort. The rooms are of sturdy, beautiful dark cherry or mahogany furniture, typical of a luxurious ship but the place has not had a coat of paint in years, the mold around the bathtub has been there for at least a season if not two and the tiles in the bathroom have not been scrubbed in years. The bed is terribly uncomfortable, the sheets are not wide enough to stay tucked under the mattress and there is not mattress pad! So, body fluids galore are just a sheet away...
The owners suck as far as reception and personality is concerned and there is nothing as far as a sign in the place indicating where breakfast is, what time it is served, and nothing about the hotel...I wonder how they obtained 4 stars when the stars are for services provided...I couldn't find them. Certainly breakfast upstairs is beautiful but in the summer, hotter than you know what, direct sun. The room noise is medium loud, (what you can hear from your neighbor) and the TV situation is bad because everyone hears what you are watching, you have to raise the volume due to the distance from the bed. Breakfast was decent actually, very ample and the brioche were decent as well as the cappucino. My overall feeling is that the place is way too expensive for what it offers and since they obviously cannot patch and repaint walls and cracks...they must be taking the money and stuffing it elsewhere, clearly not back into the hotel.
