“Great country hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

What a great find! Villa Cappugi is a wonderful hotel on the edge of the town of Pistoia, overlooking a beautiful countryside of hills and farms. The hotel is fairly close to Florence. One disadvantage is that you are usually driving into and out of Florence during rush hour. Of course, there is lots to see in the region besides Florence.
The rooms were excellent – very comfortable, well laid out, attractive, very clean – each had a nice balcony with a lovely view of the countryside.
The hotel has a pool which is very large and out in the open air.
The lobby includes a comfortable bar area where drinks are served.
The meals were very good and authentic Italian cuisine – nice variety – buffet salad bar - good breakfast offerings
The front desk and wait staff were highly attentive to the group needs

We staid 4 nights in the hotel. The staff are really nice and helped us with travel tips in the area. Rooms are clean and nice. Location really good if you have a car and traveling Tuscany and Florence area it's an excellent location. Very recommended!

Every time I stay at Villa Cappugi, the service is excellent, with the staff ready and able to do whatever is necessary to ensure comfort and ease. The rooms are well furnished, spotlessly clean, with a comfortable bed. As the hotel is out of the centre of town (a few minutes by reasonably priced taxi) it is quiet and peaceful. The bar is well stocked, and although some of the younger staff are not-quite fully trained, their willingness to make your drink of choice is commendable. The senior night porter also acts as barman, and he makes the best Campari and Orange in a glass big enough for a few goldfish.... very welcome for a late arriving tired and weary traveller. I would not hesitate to stay there again, either socially or on business. Two very small points to improve... the selection of cosmetics in the bathroom is standard but could be better; and the scrambled egg is watery and tastes "industrial". The waiting staff resolved this quickly with fresh supplies.

Room Tip: overlooking the front of the building has some nice views, and a small terrace.

first time in Toscane, the quality of this hotel participated to the agreement and best memories of one of the best holidays I had.
The Junior Suite is situated at the end of the building, facing the swimming pool.
The food served in the hotel restaurant is very well variated, and delicate. However if you stay more than one week, the menu will come back. They are very nice with children, and don't hesitate to propose us alternative dishes for children.
The swimming pool is classical, and big enough for this hotel size. It is surrounded by grass where the chairs are spread between some trees.
Free parking. Not too far for Florence, Pisa, Sienna. And of course Pistoia, which is a beautiful city.

Room Tip: Junior Suite in front of the swimming pool (107) is very calm.

we had a fantastic holiday at this hotel stayed 11 nights,we would to thank Amelie on reception for going that extre mile every time we had a request. Marco & Simon were also so helpful.
Negatives: Breakfast very poor for a 4 star hotel, should supply free towels especially for those travelling with low cost Airlines as weight is limited. Heated swimming pool a great plus.

Room Tip: book a deluxe room on the 2nd floor facing the swimming pool as the view is beautiful.

Very nice location, about a 15 min. walk to the "new town". Rooms were clean and pleasant, with a nice view to the back; restaurant very good. Unfortunately a barking dog during the night didn't promote deep sleep. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Grounds around the hotel are very attractive and well-cared-for.

Set in the hills outside Pistoia, the hotel is beautifully landscaped. The lobby is decorated in soothing colours and has displays of interesting works of art. Our room was large and modern with a small terrace. Breakfast was a treat with both hot and cold items.
