“Excellent staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2014

Stayed for 4 days in June. The staff were all fantastic and very eager to help. Sometimes a little haphazard eg receptionists running the small bar but not knowing how to make a gin and tonic! The superior room was very pleasant although could have benefitted from a set of drawers for clothes as 4 hangers each was all that was supplied in the cupboards . I guess it's Italian not to supply flannels, bathrobe or a kettle .

The hotel was very clean and modem , and breakfast was nice with great coffee and pastries. We never ate there in the evenings mainly because we found it a very soulless dining area with everyone talking in quiet voices and it seeming very serious. We did find a fabulous restaurant about a mile up the hill.

The main issue for us was the road . The hotel is in the S bend of a road which it seems the Italians live driving up and down , especially bikers. This makes it extremely noisy , not a problem in the rooms if you kept the door closed but a constant noise in the garden. While I believe the traffic was worse when we were there due to a bank holiday, Idid attempt to cross the road one day to get to the car park and had to retreat there times! If I had been elderly I have no idea if I would ever have made it!

That said, if you need to be in this area then this is a good hotel.

Room Tip: Try and get at the back of the house

We had one night here and it was just what we wanted. The hotel is located on a busy (ish) road however you don't really hear the traffic. We did during the afternoon when our windows where open however we shut them at night.

Hotel is well appointed and good rooms, clean and possibly on the more simple side however included everything that was needed.

Dinner in restaurant was very good and reasonable. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

We would stay there again

The manager upgraded my room; However, the all place look very well kept and the staff is very professional. Location is nice and they have a large parking area; not so common around Italy.
Very nice view on the Tuscany hills from the room and the breakfast area. Anna at the restaurant was very helpful explaining the menu and recommending the best dishes. Dinner and breakfast were excellent.

Villa Giorgia is without a doubt a beautiful hotel, ideally located to visit other cities in the Tuscany region. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they really go the extra mile to make sure you have a pleasant stay.

The kitchen is overall rather well, for the guests with half-pension there are 3 courses (two choices for every course). The pasta was a bit too "al dente" to our liking, but still thumbs up for the cook. There is a possibility to have a bottle of whine and keep the remainders for the day after, so you're not obliged to finish the entire bottle at once.

The hotel is located nearby a noisy road, this was the most important disadvantage to my opinion. Taking a nap at the swimming pool will be a challenge.

The last day of our stay we decided to stay at the swimming pool before driving home, but unfortunately there was a reception/marriage taking place. We did not feel comfortable in our swimming suit while everyone else was dressed up. This was very unpleasant.

Our room was at the ground floor at the garden side (we asked for this when we booked) which was very nice. Our room (camera superior) was spacious with a very nice terrace.

Overall, I enjoyed our stay a lot. I would recommend it to everybody. I think almost all guests were also Flemish-speaking, for obvious reasons this hotel seems to be very popular in north Belgium :-)

This Hotel offers great views over the hills and valleys of the area. The building is modern, the rooms tastefully furnished and very clean. And the aircon works!!! Had a truly wonderful and relaxing stay. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. The accommodation was fantastic and the food GREAT!! Will definitely return here again.
A must is having dinner outside on the terrace.

We've stayed in Villa Giorgia for a week for our honeymoon as our base in Tuscany. The hotel is located near Pistoia close to the exit of the A11 autostrade, about 30 mins drive from Florence (depends on your driving style, Italians can probably get there faster). The Hotel itself is on the SS64 road that is connected via another road that surrounds Pistoia. This road is curvy and on a slope, and you'll find yourself driving slowly at about 50km/h while the locals pass you at about 90km/h. The view from this road is maginificent, so drive slowly and take the time to appreciate it.

The parking is located across the road from the hotel, which is based adjecant to road. This is one fault with the hotel since you hear any passing car nearby when you're in the swimming pool or in the room if the soundproof windows are open. If you're interested in a completely serene enviroment, consider an alternative residence.

The hotel rooms themselves are very basic, there is a lovely garden and a nice swimming pool overlooking the Tuscan hills. There is also a nice patio in the garden where one can sit or read while sinking in all the beautiful landscape.

The hotel's breakfast is very basic, a few fresh pasteries and fruit, fresh fruit salad that is prepared daily, 2-3 types of bacon, 2-3 types of cheese, bread, yogurt and flakes that go along with it, coffee, tea, fresh juice and eggs, scattered or aumlet, which are prepared on your request. At dinner, the dining area is transformed into a resturant, where I had an amazing angus beef steak, and my better half enjoyed a cinta pork which was also very good. Prices are on the expensive range, as expected, but we didn't go wrong with ordering the cheapest Chianti on the wine list, at 15EUR. You have other dining alternatives in the area, of course. Either go to Pistoia (free parking near the center, aim for the Chellini) or continue going up road SS64, whever you'll encounter several more restuarants and bars.

Service was excellent, I cannot thank the staff enough for providing information and assisting us in any possible way they could. All the staff were very friendly, cheerful and helpful. A special thanks goes to the blonde Dutch receptionist, which I think is called Marica, who was a fountain of knowledge.

I would recommend this hotel to couples and young parents with small children who look for a Tuscany retreat in a relatively centered place. People who are strict about silence and serenity would probably be discouraged with the hotel being located next to the road and should seek other alternatives, and the same goes for people who want to be within a few minutes of the major public transportation facilities, as the hotel is located next to none.

We arrived after 1 day traveling by car, not really well dressed to go in in this hotel! They have been kind and welcoming, made a discount on the rate because was late.

Allowed us to go to the swimming pool (overfacing Tuscan Hills) even if it was closed.

Booked a table at thei restaurant, I ate a fantastic "pappa al pomodoro" tipycal tuscan soup. Fabbuolos meet and great dessert.

Staff is very attentive to you and kindness is a must.

Loved this place. I will probably stay ther 1 or maximum 2 nights, not longer. But if you are traveling around Tuscany and you want to stay out of the town center, this is so nice.
