As part of the arrangement in staying at their associated B&B, Gli Orti di Malve, we were treated to a complimentary welcome dinner. We arrived late in the afternoon after flying in from the United States and then driving from Rome FCO. So it was a long day. We begged off dinner for that night and tenatively scheduled it for a later night. As it turned out, because of it being slightly out of season as well as a couple of rainy days, we were the only diners the night we chose. We were treated to a seven course dinner with several appetizer courses, a pasta primo dish and a fish secondo course, and finally a dessert. Each course was beautifully plated and imaginative. The staff is not very knowledgable in English, but try their best to help you to understand what they are serving. The restaurant itself is stylish. The views are amazing. The wine menu is fairly extensive with both local wine from Puglia region as well as other regions of Italy. The waiter steered us to a very nice white wine to accompany the diner at a very reasonable price. Our service was personal and comfortable. We could not have asked for more. Portions are not large, but with the progressin of courses and tastes you will not be disappointed and you will leave satisfied.
Breakfast for the B&B is also served each morning at the restaurant. Chef Domenico and his sous chef Michael go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied. Each breakfast is cooked to order.
Chef and his staff made our entire stay at the B&B a real treat. Finally, on the morning we were departing it was raining heavily. We had informed Chef that we would not be taking breakfast so we could depart early. The B&B is located in the old town where cars are not permitted. We were not looking forward to trying to make our way to our car so distance away in the rain. As we made the corner to one of the piazzi....there was Chef Domenico waiting with his car. He helped load our luggage into his car and drove us to our vehicle. I don't know if it was by chance or if Chef had simply planned on waiting for us when he saw the weather that morning. Whatever reason, thank-you.
