Very good, liked the host. Great surroundings with ruins, free beach, close to Salerno and Napoli.

I was traveling with my 14 year old son and we booked this wonderful hotel for three nights. From the time we checked in until the time we left, the staff could not have been more wonderful and solicitous. They were attentive and helpful in every way, including when our taxi driver stood us up at midnight, stranding us, and the hotel night manager came himself to pick us up! The accomodations were outstanding, comfortable, clean rooms, lovely lobby and pool area, and excellent restaurant with a well thought out regional cuisine. The beach, with a section reserved for hotel guests with umbrellas, is only a one minute walk away. I will stay there again when I return to Paestum, a wonderful and fascinating place to visit.

We were worried as we drove closer but arriving was such a relief! This hotel, for the low price, is beautiful. Huge marble foyer, lovely rooms with beautiful views of the mountains on a clear day. Fantastic pool, great restauarnt although menus in Italian!
Give the beach a miss (you will be disappointed) but go down the street for a range of original Italian restaurants.
This is a GREAT hotel. I cannot see how anyone would not agree.

We decided to stay here to wind down at the end of a 3 week Italian vacation. The idea was to have some down time after visiting all the churches, monuments and other busy attractions that Italy has to offer.

The hotel was perfectly suited. It's basically a beach and pool type resort, so there was lots of opportunity to relax. We have 2 teenagers, who by this time in the trip were happy to just "chill" by the pool and on the beach.

Despite this, the hotel is still in an area that has lots to offer. The Greek temples of Paestum are close, as well as a lot of other attractions of the Cilentro region - pretty fishing towns, great underground caverns, wonderful views. Having a car is essential. The great part of this area is that the crowds you encounter in Rome, Sorrento and Amalfi are not here. This is basically an area frequented by Italian families, so don't expect everyone to speak English. Most reaturants are bilingual, but we did eat in one nearby restaurant where there was no English and the complicated menu was entirely in Italian. It was still an adventure!

We were very happy with the food in the fancy hotel restaurant and a good find for more casual eating is the Restaurant Athena, right on the beach about 200m from the hotel. The beach bar has a huge selection of great iced coffees and teas. Beach is nice - lots of umbrellas, chairs and a lifeguard.

Our room had a balcony with a great view towards the mountains. Originally we were given a Deluxe room without a balcony, but the staff changed our room with no change in price.
The hotel pool was great - very large with very gradual steps down, so that supervising little kids would be easy. My only complaint (and a minor one) is that if you wanted a drink or snack by the pool, you had to climb some stairs and enter the hotel bar to make your order. It would have been nice to have more accessible poolside service.

Apart from that, everything was great and I would recommend this place.

Stayed at Savoy Beach in 2008. Really nice hotel, Privilege rooms are excellent, beautiful pool and lovely beach close by with reserved area for hotel. Quite remote location so transport is essential. Hotel staff extremely helpful only down side is food, hotel food ordinary and local restaurants limited but hotel staff will give advice and nearby Hptel Mandetta restaurant is excellent. Highly recommended for quiet luxury setting, great beach but with good access to Amalfi Coast, Salerno and Pompeii

Paestum is located in Campania, an aera I have been at least once a year since ten years back.
Calm, not rowded woth tourists (except august), mostly people staying in Paestum is Italian.
Savoy Beach adn BW Esplanade is owned by same owner.
The cooperate with each other.
Nice Beach Club that is included in the price of the room.
Clean rooms, really good local breakfast, (compared to normal Italian breakfast), fresh bread, spremuta, excellent coffee.
Nice beatyful pool area, sometimes crowded when weddings are holded and they often are during summer months.
If you like really good locally produced fruit and vegetables and of course Mozzarella di Bufala di Campania which is the original mozzarella it is a lovely area to viist.

Book a de luxe room to be sure that you will have a big balcony.
Good beds, good cleaning but it is Italian, so if you not speak Italian be a little understanding.
I am swedish guy of 43, travelling more than 130 nights/yr and I strongly recoomend Savoy Beach mostly for a small conference and for relaxing time in nice sourrondings.

  • Liked — Safe, clean and kindness of staff
  • Disliked — An ugly exterior of the hotel from the roadside, looks like a place in Vegas

We booked 2 rooms at the hotel next door (Best Western) to the Savoy for Friday, May 18. We arrived at our hotel and was told that some guests had extended their stayand they did not have rooms for us, so they had decided to move us next door, to the Savoy Beach Hotel. The room rate was the same and the hotel looked nice, so we accepted it. However, we found it odd that there were almost NO cars in the Best Western's parking lot on the night that they were supposedly full. So, not sure why they really moved us.

The Savoy has a beautiful lobby and the room was well appointed, other than that I don't have much to compliment them on. Anytime we asked a staff member "do you speak English?", the reply was a rude "of course!" However, when we asked them a question or asked for something they had no idea what we were talking about. My daughter stayed in the room with her grandparents where there was a pull our chair for her. We had to call the front desk 3 times and eventually I went down to the desk and spelled out (in Italian) that I wanted linens for the pull-out. Mind you, everytime we talked to them on the phone they passed us to atleast 3 people and the last person always said "it will be right up". Then 30 minutes later nothing.

Breakfast was okay, but the selections were very limited. Mostly pastries and juice.

My last complaint has to do with the fact that we left a pair of my daughters shoes in our room and didn't notice until we got home. Well, since we live in Naples, it was only the next day. We immediately called the hotel and of course they kept telling us they could not understand. So, we e-mailed them and got no answer. My husband called them back and asked for them to have the manager call us regarding the matter and he never called back. As a final attempt, I emailed them again and requested that the e-mail go to the manager and for him to write back or call. It is now almost 2 weeks later and I have not even gotten the courtesy of a message.

I will definitely not stay here again. Customer service is nil!
