We were starving and had no expectations because it was the first decent restaurant we came to. But wow, great food, excellent service. Some of us had typical pasta dishes, meat dishes, desert. They were all fantastic. Even though all the drinks were very cold, we Americans wanted our ice! They don't have ice, however, which is nothing new in Italy. So we sent the kids to go nab some from the cooler in the car. The owner was apologetic but explained that in Italy you would have to have a separate freezer for that - very strict food laws in Italy. I add that only to say that how lovely the owner was about and about everything. It was a charming experience.
