“A gem in the heart of Italy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

Beautiful old town, easily explored on foot with history and art around every corner. Don't miss the Duomo in the evening sun !

“Beautiful town with great pottery shops and beautiful church.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

Warning the parking lot closes at 9 PM - so if you are eating late in the day park by the funicular . We were locked in the lot and had to be rescued by the police.

“Stunning cathedral”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

Lovely hill town with superb architecture. Not just a tourist trap - a real working town with a busy Saturday market. Great funicular ride from lower town and great little views down picturesque alleys. Cathedral stunning. Had delicious gelato. Definitely worth a return trip.

“Charming little hill town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

This is a cannot miss it town. Not over crowded, lots of interesting sites in addition to the duomo, numerous options for dining, and the town really empties out in the evenings so you get a feel for the real town after all the day trippers leave. One of my favorites.

“Charming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

A great example of a fortress city that has been well maintained. Beautiful architecture..winding/narrow streets..wonderful shops & restaurants. Saw the ancient cistern that Michaelangelo built the unique steps in (for a bordello?) Shop owners were very nice and helpful. Ceramics, olive wood handiwork, art, and high end clothing are all available.
