Our early season visit to Antica Olivaia found us Marco and Daniela's only guests for two of our three days there, and we immediately were "adopted" by them and by Daniela's dad, visiting from Rome....also by Miles the dog and Lucy and Quilt, the calico cats. My friend Lisa wanted to get her hands in the dirt and helped plant tomatoes, while I wandered around the back roads and fields picking wildflowers, for a day, before we visited Orvieto. Their excellent English and terrific personalities....the great food....the lovely room....and the view of Orvieto over the hills....I think we'd both say this is the best, happiest place we stayed on our Italy trip, which included Lucca, Volterra, Siena and Florence, as well as Orvieto.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):

This recently restored country inn offers its guests six spacious rooms with en suite bathrooms, a beautiful private pool and breathtaking views of Orvieto and the Umbrian countryside. The owners, Marco and Daniela, prepare dinner 3 times a week for their limited number of guests and meals are eaten together family style on the veranda under the stars.
