“WOW! DINING AT ITS BEST”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

We visited Norcia for 2 nights and happened to stumble onto this restaurant by chance and after talking to the owners decided to dine here the following night since the first night was covered by the tour we were on. friendly and hospitable were the first impressions. When we arrived the following evening Mauro and Daniela's daughter Emiliagna sat us down. A great house wine and exqusite cold cuts on the house followed. We started with a duo of gnocchi and tagliatelle followed by a pork chop bathed in an apple cream sauce and a steak both with truffles yummmm...
We desserted with a crostata and a creamy plum dessert both were unique and out of this world. All through the evening we felt as though we were dining alone but the place was full with locals and foreigners alike. We had reservations for 7:30 pm we left at 12:30 am that should tell you what the experience was!
You want a memorable dinner in Norcia. Have Daniela cook your meal.
Please do tell them Rocco Capone sent you. If they laugh, it is not at you. it is a joke between us!

“Amazing food, great service, and very affordable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2011

We spent three quality hours eating and drinking here one evening:-) Fantastic Norcian ham, truffle pate, amazing lentil soup, great roasted lamb...it just went on and on. Accompanied, of course, by a lovely bottle of local red wine. Service was fun and attentive - even tho we were tourists at a restaurant filled with locals.

“Highly recommended, had a lovely lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2010

Thanks to recommendations here we headed straight to this place in Norcia for lunch - we shared the trio of tartufo starters (soup, gnocci with gorgonzola and pasta all with tartufo shavings, sauce and plenty of porcini mushrooms, easily enough for 2) then had one baked trout fillet and one mixed grill with local meats - pork, lamb, sausage with generous chips and delicious roasted sweet onions.
On a quiet weds lunchtime in November they were about 1/4 full - everywhere else looked empty, it must be quite buzzy on a busy day.
With coffee, one pud (a choc custard thing - ok but not as good as the savoury dishes_ 1/2 l of good house red and water the bill was just over 50€. It would have been even less if we had not chosen the tartufo starter but we felt some truffle eating was imperative here.
Charming service - very dear restaurant. Norcia is a charming town with amazing countryside nearby - Piano Grande is perfect for walking off those calories in an awe inspiring setting after lunch..
Looking forward to going back there..

“Great food, service and value - dine alongside the locals.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2010

Norcia is famous for its truffles, salumi, hams, cheese - all of which are on the menu in this traditional restaurant tucked away in the middle of Norcia. During our visit (mid Sept 10), most restaurants were empty or nearly empty. This one was packed - with locals - and turning away the unbooked. The modest location shouldn't put you off - the food is the best we tried during the whole holiday and about half the price of the next-best.
