Locando San Francesco exceeded our expectations in many ways. First , the location on top of the highest point in quaint Montepulciano allowed for breathtaking vistas yet peaceful, tranquility while having pedestrian access to the many restaurants, wine shops, and historical sights. Additionally, this beautiful hotel is run by the lovely Cinzia who is extremely accomodating and gracious. She arranged a private wine tour and tasting at the Tenuta Valdipiatta Winery (about 15 minute drive) as well as dinner at two Toscana restaurants (walking distance). This was the most remarkable stay of our 2 week visit to Italy....Buon Magnifico!

The owners are fantastic, the wine is great and the view is incredible. Montepuliciano is a fabulous little town. Dont stay anywhere else in this area. The best part is the modern bar attached with locals and great wine . Well worth the money

My husband and I spent a weekend here and could not have asked for anything better. The owner Cinzia was so friendly and helpful, ready with any advice on sightseeing and welcome drink! We so appreciated that every detail has been considered in this lovely 4 room inn. Our room (#2) was beautiful with lovely furnishings and a view of the Tuscan countryside that I could never tire of. In fact, the very large bathroom has this view too so you can gaze out while you are taking a shower (in the extra roomy shower with rainshower showerhead and Hermes toiletries). There is a library with books, maps and DVDs. The breakfast served in the library is complete, with excellent cappuccino. There is a computer with internet for free use. The attached wine bar overlooking the charming piazza and the countryside beyond is a perfect spot to relax after a long day of sightseeing, with a glass of the local wine and a plate of local peccorino and salumi. If you have been combing the net looking for the perfect spot--this is it.

Everything is perfect: the views, the decor, the amenities- Yes, the amenities are Hermés!!! - and the trendy bar in the annex
In Montepulciano a visit at "Tenuta Valdipiatta" vineyard is a must and dont be lost. The onwer Giulio is a fantastic man. And the wines are the best.
