“Surpassed all expectations!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2007

My husband and I spent 3 nights at this amazing B&B. The owners Cinzia and Luca were the most gracious, warm and down-to-Earth hosts one could hope for. Our room, #4, was incredible. The large bed was very comfortable. The 'secret' room added a touch of enchantment. The over sized shower and bathroom in general were beautiful and luxurious and offered Hermes soaps and over sized robes. The views were top notch - I woke up early one morning and caught the sunrise outside our bedroom window overlooking the vast Tuscan valley below. The following night my husband and I sat in the windowsill on the opposite side of our room and drank wine while we watched the sun go down.

The restaurant was the best food we had in Montepulciano (if not Italy) and we found the prices to be reasonable. The cold breakfast provided was tasty and plentiful - lots of fresh fruit, cereal and pastries.

The town on Montepulciano was my favorite place in Tuscany. I cannot recommend this B&B enough for everything it offers and it's perfect location.

My wife and I just returned from a fantastic trip to Italy. Our itinerary included Cinque Terre (Vernassa), Montepulciano and Rome. We stayed 2 nights at the La Locanda di San Francesco and would recommend this hotel without hesitation. The place is absolutely spectacular. We stayed in Room 4 which had stunning East and West views. Cinzia and Luca were gracious hosts giving us helpful advice and suggestions for our daily trips in and around Tuscany. The Wine Bar also has superb food and wine. Believe the reviews, this is a fantastic place to stay!

Like everyone else, we felt this was a lovely hotel with attension to detail that surpasses it's rivals. I loved the bathroom the shower was fantastic (we had room 2), and the views were to die for. I loved the idea of the windows in the bathroom (no one can see you), I have stayed in so many places where there aren't any and this made a great change.

There is parking right outside and the food in the bar the owners also run was great, and very very resonably priced. I should also mention that there is a DVD library for you to use and a DVD player in your room.

Everything is cated for you here and the owners can not do enough to help, we were there for our anniversary and the owners gave us a bottle of wine as a present, which was most kind.

We would certainly go again.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and we could have stayed much much longer! The owners, Cinzia and Luka were incredible and were there for everything you could possibly need! The views were absolutely stunning and the rooms were gorgeous and very large! The bathrooms were large and brand new. Everything about this hotel was AMAZING! Their breakfast was awesome too! We would definitely go back!

Smart and totally comfortable. What a stunning hotel. Small, intimate with best location in Montepulciano. Could have stayed for weeks and was sad to leave. Great views, and charming owners. We ate at the wine bar downstairs and where glad we had as it too was excellent. Will definitely be returning.

We stayed here for 4 nights in June and we couldn' t have been more pleased. Our room was lovely and the bathroom was amazing! The view from our windows was awe-inspiring. I couldn't wait to throw open the shutters every morning. Cinzia, the owner along with her husband,
could not have been nicer or more helpful. She was available almost any time we needed her to give directions or help in any way. The wine bar that is attached ot the locanda was a great place to sit at the end of the day to watch the sunset and drink prosecco or the wine of the region. We also ate our weight in the fabulous bruschetta
and cheese! I would love to return to Montepulciano and Locanda di San Francesco someday, but I return to it often in my daydreams.....

We stayed at Locanda di San Francesco for four nights and loved it! The rooms are big and beautiful and filled with modern amenities. Our room had views of two gorgeous valleys. The wine bar next door is excellent and has a wonderful outdoor patio. Cinzia is very helpful in making restaurant reservations and arranging for transportation. This is a great place for people who would rather stay in town and be close to shops and restaurants than be out in the countryside. Montepulciano is not to be missed and Locanda di San Francesco is a jewel in a wonderful town.
