My boyfriend and I rented a car and spent the last week of April 2012 driving around Tuscany and I have to say Villa Cicolina was the best place we stayed in during this trip. It was a tad difficult to locate but the lady manager who picked up our call for help was really helpful and even got out to receive us when we arrived. I was so taken by the gardens surrounding the 500 year old villa. The gardener who goes about his business quietly really made the place look terrific, he even offered to switch on the jacuzzi for us when he saw us hanging out near it (water was too cold to dip in but it was refreshing just to hang out). The grounds were well kept and clean and offers a great view especially by the pool. The main building is permeated by the faint scent of flowers everyday. Our room upstairs was so quaint with all the antique furniture. I loved looking at the details of every piece. The view from the room was unblocked and so beautiful. We spent quite a bit of time hanging out at the garden and terrace soaking in the sun and just enjoying the view of flowers. Although there was no pool service, staff at the villa were always willing to help us out, all we needed to do was ask. When we asked for recommendations to visit a winery, they recommended Villa Sant'Anna where we discovered some great wines and had a splendid time. Overall, Villa Cicolina offered a really charming and lovely experience. We will definitely recommend this place and hope to visit again.
P.S: We did not dine at the restaurant simply because we were somewhere else till after dinner hours everyday.
