“Perfectly located and Roberto could not be more charming!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We visited a couple of alternative hotels first and their luke warm and surly greeting was what inspired us to move onto La Terrazza. There could not have been a greater contrast with the welcome we received from Roberto, the owner of La Terrazza. He is a force to be reckoned with - incredibly warm and charming - what a character! His 'Albergo' is almost as colourful as he is. From where he is located it is very easy to walk up the central square of Montepulciano or down to the lower restaurant-filled street. The breakfast was generous, as was to be expected from such warm hosts; and the room we stayed in was more like a small apartment, decorated in a traditional manner. Highly recommended if you want to stay some place where you feel truly welcome.

Do not miss the opportunity to stay in La Terrazza. You will cherish the experience of being the guests of Vittoria and Roberto. They make your stay in this beautiful town memorable. This is in the hearth of the city with access to everything you want to enjoy. When asked for recommendations Roberto is full of advice, and every recommendation was superb.
I can not wait to return!

Room Tip: Huge spacious rooms on the Patio floor. All rooms were beautiful.

This is simply great value for money, however there I must warn those of you that are of a shy, retiring or nervous disposition that breakfast times are not for the feint hearted, you will witness the owner race around offering all manner of coffees teas etc... more cake than you can possibly wish for all of this is accompanied by a bit of italian opera... it's a sight to behold. That aside we had a fantastic stay, room was newly renovated and immaculate the disco lights in the shower were a bit much but then much in line with the owners character.

This is a place where you must stay when you go to Montepulciano. It is located in city centre, close to Siena and Arezzo and Chianti. Roberto and Vittoria are wondeful and help in everyway and anyway they can. You can count on Roberto to perk up your mornings! Rooms are large and well appointed. Roberto makes you feel as though you are part of his family staying in his home. Vittoria is a wonderful baker, the breakfasts are incredible. Roberto makes a mean espresso. We would not consider staying anywhere else! We had a of fun and did not want to leave!

Our second visit, and we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in this area. Our hosts Roberto and Vittoria are wonderful, and the ever flamboyant Roberto's attempts at opera whilst serving breakfast are always legendary. The new rooms that were added this year are beautifully done, and I loved the new 'disco lights' in the shower.
The hotel is located right at the top of town in the old quarter, which is stunning, and there is a great laundry two minutes walk away. One of the beauties of this place is that it never seems to be swamped by tourists unlike many of the Tuscan towns, and there are more than enough restaurants of all price ranges to suit everyone.
We will be back as soon as possible.

I decided to stay here because of the reviews. Not disappointed at all. Hotel was beautifully decorated, room was actually very large. Breakfast is served on the Terrace where Roberto brings you breakfast. Homemade break and jams. Finding your way to the hotel might be a little challenging, but it's worth the journey. Would go back anytime, they made you feel like family. I wish we stayed longer.
