“The Highlight of our Trip!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

We were very well impressed by the villa-s restaurant and we decided to book a cooking class for the next day...the cooking class was without a doubt the most fun and exciting experience of our trip in Italy.
We booked for a course of 3 hours, during which, together with the chef Mimmo and Sayed that has translated into english the recipies and the secrets of the chef, we had the possibility to prepare the 4 courses that are offered in the evening at the restaurant . In particular, we prepared a carrot cake with pecorino cheese, pici handmade pasta with duck sauce and tagliatta fiorentina with a side of beans. Mimmo and Sayed were very friendly and they offered us a glass of wine and the beautiful apron that we wore was given to us for free.
The cost of the course is very convenient, it only costs 80 Euro per person including dinner.
Next year we will definitely return to Villa Cicolina and we'll make many more ...

“Wonderful experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

This was such a great experience! We did the 3-hour class (bread, appetizer, pasta, meat, dessert) and it was €85 per person and includes the dinner that night and some wine during cooking. 2-hour class was €65. You actually are cooking for the villa's full dinner in their restaurant that night (ours was for 16 people). Chef Mimmo was great and we had a translator, as he only speaks Italian. There was another couple doing the class too. We made ficattia bread, a Tuscan bread/tomato mix appetizer, fresh gnocci with sauce, marinated duck breast, and tiramisu. It all tasted great. Almost wish the meat was something more "normal" so we could re-create it back home easier, but it was delicious there.

I wish we could've kept track of the recipes more, but there was so much going on that it was hard to keep up with writing it all down. Hopefully we'll be able to work off our notes and re-create some it the food back home.

It did end up being €170 for us two, so it is a big money committment, but I found the prices to be much lower than other cooking classes I found online. And considering it includes dinner, it's not so bad.

This cooking class was incredible funny! We got to make a cheese starter, handmade pasta (from scratch), italian style garlic bread and the tuscan beef. The chef Mimmo and Sayed, the guy who translated in English, were very friendly and would definitely recommend this cooking class!
