“Beautiful unspoiled gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2008

All of the other reviews are right, this place is wonderful. You always wonder if a place can be as nice as they say. This one is!! Nico is a wonderful host, very helpful in sightseeing and dining recommendations, friendly and always on top of things. We enjoyed chatting with him as he described the history of Sant Antonio and his plans for the future. The breathtaking views from the patios are usually seen only in photos. It was a very relaxing, beautiful place to return to after long days of sightseeing. We had the separate little cottage with the big fireplace and the great bathroom with the jacuzzi tub. Before dinner we would take a glass of wine, some cheese and crackers and sit on one of the large patios to admire the views. We had brought our ipod boombox with us and we played classical music, the only thing beautiful enough for this place. It was heaven. We cannot wait to return to "Our home in Tuscany".

“Can't wait to return”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2008

We stayed in Sant'Antonio for three nights in late May 2008.

Sant'Antonio is an ideal base for exploring Southern Tuscany. Siena, Pienza, Montepulciano are all within easy driving distance.

Nico (the owner) goes out of his way to be helpful and is very knowledgeable about the local area. As a further plus, Nico's English is excellent which makes life a lot easier for non-Italian speakers.

We look forward to returning.

“Go before you die!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2008

This May we returned to Sant Antonio, for the third time. If you have never been here, you like beautiful countryside, beautiful and cultural places to stay and a friendly welcome you must go.

The welcome is excellent, the apartments devine and the views stunning.

The apartments are done out with wonderful taste and care and attention to a very high standard, the layout of the whole property is superb, taking into consideration everyones comfort and making the most of the beautiful surroundings.

The gardens are immaculate and there has been such sympathy with the surroundings that everything blends into the Italian countryside beautifully. The position is perfect for visiting places such as Rome and Florence, but there is so much more and Montepulciano is enough in its self to satisfy one for days.

Please go, it is wonderful - would we go back yet again - without fail!

“Best place we have stayed in Italy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2008

This was our forth time to Italy over the past 15 years and Sant' Antonio is by far the best place we have ever stayed! The property is spectacular - we spent hours looking over the olive groves and hiking around the property. We stayed in the Sodomo apartment. It was extremely clean and comforable for the two of us. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, including delicious olive oil. On one of the nights the staff cooked a classic Tuscan meal - we had a blast! The food was delicious, the wine abundent and we partied into the night. And then there is Nico...what can we say? If you look up the word 'hospitality' in the dictionary, his picture will be there. When we said good-bye to Nico I started crying - it felt like we were leaving a family member. We have been considering purchasing a place in Italy for the past few years. We changed our minds - Sant' Antonio felt like home. We recommend it without hesitation and look forward to returning.

“Great Location, Great Service, Fantastic Tuscan Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2008

My wife and I had been talking about a trip to Italy for 10+ years, and finally, when she said, lets just do it. I contacted a friend of mine from Italy, and they recommended Sant' Antonio resort. I was not disapointed.

Even though it rained a few of the days, nothing could dampen the beauty of this resort. The views just outside your villas are breathtaking. The location is very central for day trips to Siena, Pisa, Florence, Cortona, and several other quaint towns. Our 2 bedroom villa was well appointed, large bedrooms, complete bathrooms, fireplace, etc. After walking through the small towns in Italy, I soon appreciated just how large our villa was. We were very spoiled.

The staff puts on a Tuscan Evening, for all the guests to meet each other, which proved to be an excellent event. The food was fantastic, the wine kept flowing.

The owner was outstanding. I had invited guests, and unfortunately their luggage did not arrive. As they flew Halifax, to New York, to London, to Rome. We knew it was going to be a challenge. Nico basically took over, and asked us to simply try to enjoy our vacation while he made numerous phone calls, to track down my guests luggage. Simply outstanding service. His only objective was to make sure that we all had a great vacatation and we certainly did.

I hope to return to Italy again in a couple of years, and will certainly consider staying at Sant'antonio again.

  • Liked — It was like having my own home in Italy, Private, yet easy access to anything I wanted to see
  • Disliked — Can't think of anything more I would have wanted. Perhaps Landry facilities on site. Washer, Dryer
