“Wonderful place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2014 via mobile

We were there in October of 2012, our first stay outside of Rome. Spent four nights there. The hotel was very nice and welcoming and the inn keepers were awesome hosts. Our room had a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside. Breakfast was delicious. There are several good restaurants in the city. You feel like a resident in the beautiful walled city. So very relaxing!

We spent two nights at this beautiful hotel based on the reviews on this site. We booked a deluxe room with a balcony overlooking Tuscany. When we walked out on the balcony we almost feinted because the views were so spectacular. The views were so great that we went to the local market and got some cheeses, bread, salumi, and wine and had a "picnic" on our balcony. One of the most memorable meals we had on our two week trip. The room was fantastic also. The ceilings must have been at least 14 feet high. Everything was fantastic. And Gio the owner could not have been nicer. Also, the hotel is steps away from the Duomo and all of the sites. We would never think of staying anywhere else, and look forward to returning again and again.

Room Tip: Make sure you book one of the rooms with a balcony overlooking the countryside.

We selected Meuble il Riccio based on the Tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed. The property is beautiful and the views from the windows are spectaular. We stayed in one of the Riccio suites and loved it. This was one of the larger rooms (complete with a sitting area and outdoor porch) that we have stayed in during trips to Italy.Gio and Ivana are gracious hosts and welcome visitors into their "home". I highly recommend it!

What a fantastic place. Beautifully renovated, and the grandure of the original building retained in the design. We had booked an upgraded large bedroom, with lovely bathroom, and a private covered terrace with views over the hills of Montepulciano - simply great - and worth the extra cost. The owners - Gio and Ivana - couldn't be more friendly. Very nice continental breakfast, capuccino's on demand, and mine came with a chocolate smiley face! So all in all, a very relaxing place where you felt at home, and a great location to walk the entire old town. Highly recommended, we would go back.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a room with a terrace and view, well worth it.

Meuble il Riccio is a lovely, intimate hotel in a magical medieval village in Tuscany. Take advantage of the rooms with a view if possible, it is soooo worth it. The rooms are modern and very comfortable. The view is phenomenal. The breakfasts by Ivana are traditional for the locality and delightful (try the yogurt, it's wonderful). It's location is just off the Piazza Grande and so convenient to everything in town. They have a rooftop vista that gives a view of the entire region. Gio's photos tell the rest! Meuble il RIccio will help make your time in Montepulchiano magical, it did for us!

Room Tip: Rooms with a view are so worth it.

We had a fabulous time here. We stayed in one of the Riccio suites; this room was more expensive but was worth the extra cost. It was huge, with a high ceiling, lots of windows and a large bathroom (with a tub!!), not to mention lots of historic Tuscan charm. Our suite included a private vestibule that opened to the courtyard with a fabulous view of the valley below, but even with this the room was very quiet. We opted for breakfast there each morning, and it was delicious and convenient for starting our day. In addition to the property's beauty/history/convenience, the owners are also wonderful! They are very nice, helpful and provide excellent assistance and recommendations for exploring the surrounding area. Even though you get personalized service, they aren't overbearing and we never felt like we were intruding in their home. We truly enjoyed our visit here and can't recommend it enough!
